Good access, small perch 4-6 inch.Better lakes in the area.

by PerchmanNM on Feb. 20, 2022
No flood water, there was lots in lake January but there is none now. All the snow must have melted and froze. Only 3%u201D of snow now. I was able to pull and enclosed trailer onto the ice with ease. Lots of perch on camera.

by Nazar on Feb. 10, 2022
How is the ice, is there lots of flood water?

by dschade on Jan. 24, 2022
Is anyone finding perch at cross this winter.

by itlldo on Jun. 26, 2020
How's the fishing for pike?! Going up there Jul 10/2020
by gerryvb on Jun. 25, 2020
Word on the lake is that perch were winter killed year before last. No signs of any perch really.

by itlldo on Jun. 2, 2020
Anybody been fishing this this last couple months?! Did it winter kill at all??
by PapaBear on Feb. 24, 2020
Around 23-24” ice with 6-7” of top water once you break through the snow crust. Stick to the “roads” or take a shovel and rubber boots!

by kevinm on Dec. 23, 2019
How's the ice looking? Trucks driving on yet?

by Jim420Lahey on Dec. 15, 2019
Ice varies 8 - 12 inches. Had a quad towing a sled, traveled all over the lake. Covered lots of ground Lots of bites, lots of marks, nothing landed.

by kevinm on Dec. 14, 2019
Solid 12%u201D of ice 300yrds off boat launch. Fishing in 18' water was tough bite. Quite a few fish on camera and sonar. Caught 2 but lots of action.

by skabs on Dec. 8, 2019
About 9" of ice, 150-200 yards out from the campground. Thin layer of snow on the ice. One tiny perch, lots of bites and marked fish on the flasher all day.

by BigBam on Dec. 30, 2018
I walked on, so didn’t get to hop around too much. Perch were very far and few between on the camera, probably saw a total of 3 on the camera all day. Did catch 5 jack.

by BigBam on Dec. 30, 2018
Was up on Boxing Day. Ice was 10-12

by David V on Dec. 30, 2018
So how's the ice fishing this year. People seeing good numbers and how thick is the ice out there?

by Cajed1 on Dec. 28, 2018
Nope it was reopened to retention this year. 3 pike any size and 15 perch.
by redneckfishnalbertan on Dec. 28, 2018
Steele lake is catch n release only.

by Olena on Dec. 28, 2018
I am just wondering if somebody was recently fishing on Steele lake

by Olena on Dec. 28, 2018
Hell

by TheFishinBroz on Jul. 30, 2018
Path north of campgrounds (bird watching area/dock) Friday evening 7-8pm caught about 8 jack lost 2 (forgot net). Saturday evening fished for about 45mins caught 4 lost 2. Solid amount of weeds, but if you can navigate them easy fishing. Was casting out to the right off the bird dock. Only real down fall is that its a hot spot. Be ready to have an audience or to compete for the spot. If you morning fish in this spot i suggest early early morning. By about 730 am its pretty hot there. (weather) -TheFishinBroz, -K

by Jaw jacker on Jul. 8, 2018
So apparently there is no size limit this year. Saw some idiot keeping 18%u201D ers. Barely any meat on them. He was quick to tell me he was allowed to keep any size. I can't believe how stupid people are. And then everyone wonders why Alberta lakes have no fish.

by CRichMusic on Jun. 18, 2018
Caught about 40 pike in 2 days of fishing. You can keep 3 too. Most of them around 20-24 inches in 7 feet of water. Caught the odd 28 incher.

by Nits101 on Jun. 10, 2018
Just wanted to know if anyone. Has shore from campsite ?
by Jaykul on Jan. 10, 2017
Note check your regulations. Steele Lake has zero catch limits due to the severe summer kill that occurred. The lake need to bounce back.

by Brando on Dec. 30, 2016
Did not see any vehicle tracks on lake. I assume it's plenty thick but summer kill has kept ppl away from fishin it

by DAFISH on Dec. 30, 2016
Lake summer killed, limits have been changed to zero! I would assume it's "open" but catch and release only.

by Pig Perch on Dec. 29, 2016
Is the lake even open to fishing right now?

by HAMI70 on Dec. 12, 2016
Anyone try in the past couple weeks ? Ice ? Any feedback would be great , thanks

by Droc01 on Aug. 18, 2016
Good to hear Maybe they may re open the lake next year if this winter goes fine.

by spi on Aug. 17, 2016
camped all weekend and could not keep the perch off the hook and let all go because of the low oxygen but they were all really nice sized even some around 12 inch winter is coming

by Droc01 on Aug. 14, 2016
Very true and sad as well. It will bounce back!!! Great perch lake

by Unnamed on Aug. 13, 2016
There was a large fish kill due to low oxygen in the lake. The lake is now 100% catch and release. O limit in perch and 0 pike limit.

by on Jul. 21, 2016
The lake was the muddiest I've ever seen it, probably due to so much runoff. Hardly any bites. Fish wouldn't be able to see or feel through that muck! At least it wasn't an algae bloom.

by Pikeye on Jun. 12, 2016
Caught a dozen pike. Couple of keepers but released them all. Good time.
by Fireman on May. 24, 2016
Also there is a dock and you can fish from it I have caught lots of fish from it

by Fireman on May. 24, 2016
To answer the question about blue green the answer is yes depends on the weather systems if it is hot and dry seems to be the condition it comes in if cool and wet then no but more than likely yes best time is first 2-3 weeks of July for clean water

by Fishing2016 on May. 16, 2016
Is there a dock you can fish off from, or do you need a boat to fish here?

by Happy happy on Apr. 27, 2016
Was planning a week here first week of August, does this lake typically get blue green algae? Thanks for any info. Would be much appreciated

by Tinner88 on Dec. 29, 2015
Fishing was poor yesterday!! About 15" of ice. Went on with the Sierra with no problems, just drive slow. Caught 3 pike throughout the day, rarely saw any perch and they certainly weren't interested. Had lots of freshwater shrimp come up with the auger water....maybe the fish are full of shrimp and not hungry?

by Daniel_sci on Dec. 27, 2015
Went today, about 10-13 inches of ice. Only caught 2 jacks all day, no perch on camera but lots of jack but none would bite, very slow today
by Sockeye on Dec. 21, 2015
Slow. Small pike and perch on camera. Fished straight out from launch and along the weed bed. Ice 10 - 12"

There are no springs in this lake ... that I am aware of ... it is stream fed. I was there a month ago and the water level was below the weir so no flow on the outlet side

Was here for a week lots of small pike. Seemed to be biting on any thing bright, fire tiger patterns, spoons, jigs, crank baits. Trolled the north east shore just past the tenting area on the point.

by on Jun. 9, 2015
Yes, a big boat can be accommodated, but hopefully you're just fishing!

by Red snapper on Jun. 6, 2015
Hey I'm heading out to cross lake to do a little boating and fishing. I've never been there before. Is it a good enough lake for a big ski boat?

by Perchslayer11 on Feb. 2, 2015
Was out on jan 31. The fishing is horrible. We were out for 5 hours and managed one pike. The perch were no where to be found.
by RobSyl on Feb. 1, 2015

Just wondering has anybody heard how the lakes are?
by english setter on Jan. 13, 2015
Is floodwater still an issue after the cold snap? Can a truck get around without breaking through or should I bring my sled? I might want to get off the beaten trail.

by Andrew1234 on Jan. 6, 2015
We did horrible... 2 small pike a couple of perch nibbles and that was it , my daughter didn't even catch one fish ... This lake used to fish well in the winter.... We were also in the north east side , left of the boat launch.
by SH on Jan. 3, 2015

by Iceman123 on Jan. 3, 2015

by SH on Jan. 3, 2015
Out here right now. Really cold. Quad broken through the top water. Sure glad we decided not to drive the truck out. Barely got the quad free.

by Mr. Goodstuff on Jan. 2, 2015
Was out with the kids a couple days ago. Ice was about 16", trucks all over. I was the dummy in a grand am haha. Pike were biting, perch were in stealth mode I guess.

by Rick_the_Chemist on Dec. 31, 2014
Andrew, lots of BIG pike on the SE corner in about 9 feet of water. Some perch but they eluded us. Good luck

by Andrew1234 on Dec. 30, 2014
Hey all, going out tomorrow , taking my 10 year old daughter to hook some fish... any recent reports ? . not looking for location or fishing tips just if the perch and pike are biting ? any info would be appreciated.

by Warriorbrad on Dec. 30, 2014
Anyone interested in going out in the morning ? Send a post to me. We could split the gas .

by Warriorbrad on Dec. 29, 2014
It's got to be more than 15" now . I didn't use a tape but that's enough to support a heavy duty truck . Keep in mind that's "driving" not just parked on the ice . So over time a vehicle will break through . I believe that the recommendations of ice thickness have a safety factor but do YOUR duedillegence . 15" of ice can safely hold 10 tons . Don't be fearful , just have respect and don't speed on the ice.

by charliesgirl on Dec. 29, 2014
How's the ice? would it be safe for vehicles?

by Rick_the_Chemist on Dec. 27, 2014
Hey Warrior, I'll be at the lake for the next 3 days, if your on the ice and see a yellow & black side-by-side come say hi, I'd love to know where you're finding some of those bigger perch. All I've seen is small ones so far!!

by Warriorbrad on Dec. 27, 2014
Hey Indy ! Your right ! 2 guys , 26 perch . Some real nice ones, a couple of 11" plus , one 12" and the 8"-10" category . It may be hard for you to catch any but have respect for those who can .

by Rick_the_Chemist on Dec. 24, 2014
Lots of little perch on Monday (2-4") and few better ones but no bites. Seen a number of small pike. Had one monster grab onto my light rod, wrestled him to the hole, had him half out when the line snapped :( agree with Kim on the flood water, we had to gun the side-by-side to keep from getting stuck. solid 12" of ice south of the boat launch.
by Klm on Dec. 22, 2014
Ice Report: 12 in
good ice, lots of flood water all over lake. Not many tracks so watch out if you drive out even with a quad. Fishing was slow.

by Jettis on Dec. 15, 2014
It wast me that drilled the hole. And when I went there wasn't even a skiff of snow on the ice. I was not scared to walk on 7" of ice. I was thinking that there was going to be around 3 or 4. But the first couple steps I took broke through the surface ice on top of the flood water. So naturally I can say I was a little worried. Good luck fishing boys
by Warriorbrad on Dec. 10, 2014
I forgot to mention . Thanks to whoever drilled the hole close to the shore . A warning to all ! Drilling a hole where there's a significant amount of snow causing water to flow onto the ice . There is about 3-4" of water at the launch. That's not the bad part ; the cold weather we had didn't even freeze it . I hope he replaced his blades ! Must of drilled a foot into the sand. Note for people who are afraid of walking on ice. Wait until January ! BTW 7" of ice could hold up a pickup truck but not for extended periods of time . Not that I would drive mine but say a jeep. .

by Warriorbrad on Dec. 10, 2014
Revised : was out yesterday. Arrived kinda late in the morning. Took awhile to find the perch but the bite was on . Took home 8 , 3 in the 11" range . Drilled about18 holes. And lost one huge perch.

by iFish Guest on Dec. 10, 2014
Was out yesterday . Got there late in the morn
by Jettis on Nov. 25, 2014
Was out on Saturday and the fishin was terrible. Fished straight out from the boat launch... Nothing. Walked all the way over to the reed bed... Nothing walked all the way past the beach on the other side... Nothing. We probably walked about 4 kms drilling holes all the way at different depths with not even a sign of a perch. Saw several pike. One hole had 4 down there. I found two dead perch about 3 inches long frozen a few inches under the ice. Which was not cool especially after I saw no perch on the camera. Cross our fingers. Someone let me know if they see any. Good luck this year everyone!
by Jettis on Nov. 25, 2014
Ice Report: 7 in
Was a bit of flood water that froze over on too of the ice. Which made for a few scary first steps but overall the ice was consistant

by Rick_the_Chemist on Oct. 20, 2014
No luck for me or the kids Saturday, but seen a few others limit out on pike and take a few perch. Water clear to 6 feet. Does anyone know if you can ice fish close to shore? I've never tried this lake in the winter and would be going in on foot.
by Islander214 on Aug. 26, 2014

by Oilcan on Aug. 20, 2014
Does anybody know how bad the algae is here

by Maxum on Aug. 8, 2014
I am heading out on the 15th. Was wondering where a good spot for shore fishing would be for me and the kids? Can the perch be caught from shore too?
by iFish Guest on Aug. 5, 2014
This lake is now a pike lake. There is no reason to come here for perch. Its not like years before.

Went out yesterday and seen a few tracks out in front of boat launch so drove out and made a turn to left and broke through overflow spent a hour shoveling ourselfs out. We then pulled or tobogans across lake to just past point where picnic site is and where breaking through overflow just walking. Looks like only way to get across lake is on sleds or walking

by Jaykul on Jul. 29, 2013
Went out early yesterday morning, beautiful just as we got there. Unloaded and went across the lake, just as we dropped 3 anchors and the wind came up and blew us across the lake, 2 ft waves and all. Toughed it out for 1 hour and only caught 2 three inch perch.

by Stew-kuzz on Jul. 21, 2013
Was out on cross on Friday. Weather was terrible but we caught a bunch of pike... 2 keepers and a few perch. Not too bad. Probably would have done better if it wasn't pouring rain!

Was on Cross this Sunday and found it to painfully slow for perch. We managed about a dozen keepers with four fishing. It was nice all the same. Thanks to the group that let us cook our sausage over their fire, made it an all around great day!

by iFish Guest on Feb. 9, 2013
The ice was nothing like it was last year. Over 2 1/2ft of ice it was great. This year there is too much snow blanketing the ice which makes it dangerous. The flood water is ridiculous, and I'm hearing of people breaking through. If u have a quad I'd much rather take that road then to drive. Either way this lake can wait til next yr. I ain't comin back. Down south at gull lake it's super clean and free of snow. Not to mention a solid 20" of ice. Sink or swim u better swim to win. Ya!...... Not in nuclear freezing water!! Happy fishin peeps and stay safe always :)

by iFish Guest on Feb. 2, 2013
Well now I believe the other posts about you I grew up at cross lake and have fished it lots and have never seen nor heard anyone catching that big of a perch out of cross but hey if you like posting stuff like that so be it. I just makes you look like a fool but to each there own. Every one else good luck fishing

by Fish Magnet on Feb. 1, 2013
Went out there yesterday with my dad and boys and we caught our 60 perch 9-11 inchers in 6 hours. Great day for first time out fishing this year.

by Elkaholik on Jan. 26, 2013
On the northerm part of the west bay. Up to 8" water under couple inches ice. Not fun

by Fireman on Jan. 26, 2013
What happen did you break through the ice if so where abouts heading back on Sunday

by Elkaholik on Jan. 26, 2013
I would like to thank the gentleman with the Duramax for saving my life today also to Newfie Jim for helping me and last but not least to the two fine gentlemen who wouldn't even get out of their tent to help me. Have yourself a great day.

by Fireman on Jan. 25, 2013

by Lester on Jan. 23, 2013

by Fireman on Jan. 19, 2013

by perch_herder on Jan. 19, 2013
Careful going any further than the point on the north side, lots of flood ice, broke through in the truck about 6-8". Stick to the trails!

by Brian on Jan. 18, 2013
Anyone know the ice thickness?

by RJ on Jan. 16, 2013
Hey, has anybody been on cross lake lately??? Wanting to know how the ice conditions have been after this warm weather??? We were thinking of going this weekend!!!

by The CanadianBadass on Jan. 12, 2013
I love that, A whole mess of tiny yellow walleye, Thats one of the most epic posts on here ever.. Great lake for tiny walleyes, And plus you can keep 15 of these tiny walleyes! lol

by Tom on Jan. 9, 2013
No bites, but was only there 2 hours.

by TJ on Jan. 8, 2013
Got half dozen fish, not what it used to be.

by Tony G on Jan. 8, 2013
Whitfish? This lake doesn't have whitefish lol. Limit in jumbos!

by Perch on Jan. 7, 2013
Caught a whitefish ( yeah, no joke, wrap your mind around that one) that was almost 3 lbs. Slow day for perch, probably 20 other trucks out here.

by Anthony young on Jan. 7, 2013
They are not biting at all tried multiple spots, 6 small small ones in 5 hrs

by UP in SMOKE BBQ on Jan. 7, 2013
And we were the second group on the ice (8am), last to leave (4pm)!! I tried every thing to get them to bit, what were they bitting one for you guys?? Everyone one I talked to on the ice were having the same problem... Finally did catch a huge perch using a Shrimp as bait

by UP in SMOKE BBQ on Jan. 7, 2013
Wow, I sure wished I was fishin the same lake as u guys where yesterday!! Cause the Cross lake we were on wasn't bittin, hundreds on the Camera but only half a dozen on the ice!! Couple nice ones tbough

by Bucky on Jan. 6, 2013
My goodness, a guy could really get into some nice perch here. Got one at 14", four at 13", and two at 11", rest of the limits filled with 8-9 inchers, 1000 other people fishing too.

by Perch on Jan. 6, 2013
The lake is awesome, caught 4 perch over 12 inches and limits in 10 inchers.

by Fish for the future on Jan. 5, 2013
This lake will be completely fished out by the end of this season. Keep only what you need people, please fish responsibly

by Oak on Jan. 5, 2013
Incredably busy! Easily 40-50 trucks on the lake. Caught a dozen perch, but only 3 over 10"

by Kelvin on Jan. 5, 2013
Fishing was slow as @&$$&, only kept a few ten inchers. 100 trucks on the ice no bs. WHAT!

by Flanged on Jan. 5, 2013
Wife and I got to lake @ 10 am, drove on, lots of other fishermen. Fished 400 yds strait out from dock. 12" of ice. fished for 3 hours and caught 3 perch, 3", 5" and 8". lots of flood water too. If I would have known there was only a foot of ice, would have walked on. A guy witha a diesel drove past and the water gushed from our holes, pretty scarry, time to get off the lake.

by da fishing mama on Jan. 4, 2013
got on the lake at about noon. Fished about 100 yards out west of the dock. Caught 1 10" perch and 1 throw back jack at about 3:00. Nice warm enjoyable afternoon though.

by Scott on Jan. 4, 2013
Old dad Check your post? Wabamun is a catch and release fishery I hope you didn't keep them like you post states. Reg you regs folks.

by Old dad on Jan. 4, 2013
Any suggestions? My family likes the fish nuggets. Keep calm fish on. Kept a few good size fish out of wabamun 56cm jack n about 9 inch perch. Good day I must say can't beat it

by Fish for the future on Jan. 4, 2013
People should start thinking about the future when keeping that many especially that small Just saying, no wonder Everytime people find perch in a lake a couple years down the road the lake gets fished out cross will be next just you wait and see

by Old dad on Jan. 4, 2013
4 guys 60 perch. Caught our limit each by noon. Biggest is around 8 inches. Keep calm fish on.

by Snipes on Jan. 3, 2013
Fish were sluggish today. Two guys all day, pulled up about 40 perch I consider 1 to be a keeper at maybe 11" the rest were 5"-8" Saw a lot on camera , very few of decent size I won't be going back

by Electricweeb on Jan. 3, 2013
Hit the ice at 10am, there were about 25 vehicles out on the ice. I drove straight out from the dock to the point,40m from shore. Ice was about 14".Between three of us we cought 13 fingerlings. Very small. I would call it slow . Used several hooks, wire worm. Pink and white maggots . Keep your hooks in the water kids and barbs off your hooks! Enjoy

by FishingAddict on Jan. 2, 2013
Went out this morning and the ice was fine. Some spots had 13 inches, and some 14. The wind was a killer today. Fishing was ok. Consistent for a while and then died down for a bit and a few nibbles here n there. The flood waters was unreal! Drilled two holes and the water kept coming like crazy. Standing in about 1 1/2 inches of ice water which made things a little more difficult but still managed to carry on with the day. Truthfully, I have never seen flooding like this before is there a reason for this? Still educating myself on some stuff as I go. Probably gonna try gull lake as I heard the fishing has been pretty good. Hope you all have a Happy New Year and a wonderful ice fishing season! :)

by Perch on Dec. 31, 2012
6 of us kept our limit, 90 perch lol, good haul of nice perch, even got a keeper pike.

by Jford on Dec. 31, 2012
There are a ton of perch in this lake... Had 2 camera's down the hole yesterday about 20 feet apart and just amazing how many fish are in this lake... I wouldnt worry about over fishing this lake....

by Fuzzy grubber on Dec. 31, 2012
Slow day fishing three of us 22 keepers 9-10 inchers biting very light lots of flood water lots of fishing pressure big groups right side of boat lunch look to me like outfitters tents looked like ten to fifthteen in group WOW

by Perchmann on Dec. 30, 2012
Ya I opened up that can of worms! Perch are so resilient ! But not many anglers keep pike. We should concern ourselves with the pollution entering our lakes. Thank God this isn't a lake with a 100 cottages on it!

by Jackfish. on Dec. 30, 2012
Wonder why it isn't what it used to be. It's a hard one to figure out. Just think if there is 50 trucks on the lake, every truck has 2 to 3 people in it. Not saying every truck is catching there limit, but lets say every truck is keeping 10 to 15 perch. That is 500 to 750 perch a day. So I wonder why it isint what it used to be and that is probably a average day for that lake. Just saying.

by Chris on Dec. 30, 2012
Was out there tday. By 9 am there were over 20 trucks on the ice. By noon there were over 50 trucks plus countless sleds, quads, walkers etc. It always makes me wonder why (when literally dozens of other pickups are driving around on the ice) people still park a perfectly good 4x4 in the parking lot and drag their gear out on foot lol. Not criticizing, just makes me scratch my head lol. Anyway.....trucks everywhere. Saw quite a few perch on the camera but fishing was very slow. It appears the advertising of the good perch fishing on that ridiculous AO forum has had a nasty effect on the lake. It sure isnt what is used to be.

by Fireman on Dec. 30, 2012
Yes at 14 inches you will be fine but make sure you have 4x4 and follow other tracks and had good luck last year just off the point

by FishingAddict on Dec. 30, 2012
Hello Anglers. Glad everyone is out having fun. I have a relative up from Chicago who would love to try the ice fishing experience and we are ready to get her a licence for the day. I know this sounds me being a bit paranoid but is the lake really safe to drive on being only 14 inches? I know I know, I'm a bit silly, just worried of the truck sinking but we are so eager to get out and have fun even if we catch nothing. Can someone direct me for some safe zones or where not to drive on the lake? All info would be much appreciated. Happy Ice fishing people let the fun finally begin :) :)

by Perch on Dec. 29, 2012
Limit all over 12". No bs. Get more people out here. This lAke needs more fishermen.

by Newfie316 on Dec. 29, 2012
Fishing slow all day. Caught six keepers between two of us. Talked to fish cop he said everyone he talked to was slow. Fished west of boat dock

by Team JFL on Dec. 29, 2012
Out at Cross today field testing the JFL wire worms. The red worm loaded with pink maggots was great today. 9 perch over 10 inches, 8 perch over 11 inch and 1 at 13. We got some photos put the fish back, they are in there for you to catch next. Saw tons of nice perch on the Aquaview as well. Get out there and get after it.

by Mike on Dec. 29, 2012
Watched a lot of small perch for hours and a pike stalked the lure all afternoon but nothing worth bragging about

by Perch Man on Dec. 29, 2012
Perch fishing was a little slow for the father in law but I was able to get supper for the family with the biggest one being about 12". Lots snow and the ice is about 14" thick . Good luck and happy perching .PS my wife caught the first fish today

by DAFISH on Dec. 29, 2012
Was out Dec 26, over 10" of ice, lots of trucks on the ice. Lots of snow, wouldn't recommend driving on without 4x4!! Perch were ok.. Average 10", a few over. Biggest was 13.5"

by Adam21 on Dec. 28, 2012
Went there on Dec 27. Ice was 12 inches thick. Lots of other trucks on the lake at least 10 others. Caught about 15 decent size perch between 2 guys. And 3 small pike that we threw back. Lots of small jacks hanging around our hooks on the camera.

by The wolf on Dec. 28, 2012
I would also like to know the ice thickness. My wife and I love taking our son here in the winter

by Shawn on Dec. 27, 2012
Thinking about going this weekend. First time out this year and want to know if the ice is thick enough to drive truck on?

by perch 101 on Dec. 25, 2012
there are too many perch in the lake, they will winter kill if they are not thinned out. they are a very fast reproducer

by Fireman on Dec. 24, 2012
Well I grew up by cross lake and if you know the lake you know that it is over populated with perch all summer I was catching perch with sores gave some to fish and wildlife And they came back and said it is from other perch attacking each other so they will not reduce the limit as of now if and when the population decreases then they will lower the limit in the lake

by Joejoe on Dec. 23, 2012
Lake feedback includes reminding people to be responsible anglers and not taking more than their fair share of fish.

by Jackfish on Dec. 23, 2012
Well said joejoe. People never learn and they are ruining for everyone. Going out and catching your limit is completely fine. But not everyday. Like I said they should of lowered the limit to 5. I want to be able to go fishing with my kids in the future, but the way people are abusing it, it's not going to happen.

by Lester on Dec. 21, 2012
Could drive all over the lake. There was a little surface water in places but no problems. Tried 4 spots I did well at this summer and last winter between 8:00 and 11:00 and never had a single hit. I thought the pressure had finally taken its toll. One more stop and ran into a school. 2 of us kept 25 nice perch.

by Something fishy on Dec. 18, 2012
Was out the last 2 weekends, very slow.2 guys fishing 2 whole days caught 5 keepers and not more than 25 fish.changing colors did not seem to change anything.goodluck

by Dschade on Dec. 17, 2012
Heading out to Cross over Christmas, how's it looking this winter. We did well out there over the summer. I want to take a school group out there mid January

by Schnidy on Dec. 14, 2012
Can you post pics on here? Sounds to me like your bait isn't big enough then if you have got any bigger then 13! Ever been jigging for walleye and snag a big perch? Well it's not by accident!

by Perch king on Dec. 14, 2012
Hey schnidy. Post some picks of those 12-15 inch perch. I've been fishing Cross for four years now and the biggest I've caught is 12.5 " . One thing I've noticed is more anglers every year . Just remember everyone you don't "have" to take home 15 every outing !

by Schnidy on Dec. 14, 2012
To all of you going out there this weekend, please don't keep anything under 9 inch!!! There are plenty of 10-15 inch in there! You just have to be a fishermen and track them down.

by Lester on Nov. 27, 2012
~ 8 inches of ice

by Oilcan2401 on Nov. 26, 2012
How thick was the ice at cross?

by Lester on Nov. 25, 2012
Walked on today and caught 11 keepers out of ~20. Perch fishing ended when the hammerhandles moved in. Caught 5 of them with several other hits.

by Jackfish on Nov. 24, 2012
They should of lowered the limit to 5 perch. Other lakes are going that way because of over fishing.

by Perch king on Nov. 23, 2012
All of the perch aren't gone! You just have to know how to fish for them. I will catch 30-50 perch and keep a few!

by Fisherman on Nov. 23, 2012
All the perch are gone because people go there everyday and limit out. Ruining it for everyone

by Fishersfreak on Nov. 18, 2012
Any ice report

by fishindoc on Jan. 1, 2012
Ice is thick enough to drive trucks on. Was there last Wednesday for a few hours fishing for perch using maggots. Did not see any at all on the west shore. Lots of vehicles on north shore and we heard that is good for perch there. No pike for us either. A few tents around us had a few small pike.

by Bighornsteve on Dec. 28, 2011
