So I write in July about how great it is to keep a walleye from Sylvan. That was before I was ignorant to the fact this lake has been offered up as a sacrificial lamb. The rules have been broken 100's of times over with 1 fish limits very often ignored. Due to pandemic and the new regulations I have never seen more boats and anglers on this lake. If the single fish limit was observed for this year only and then maybe switched to another over populated lake ( pigeon, gull etc) It would make sense. Time will tell. Can you at least think about closing and implimenting tags for 2021?

by GWagon on Nov. 21, 2020
Anybody know how thick the ice is?

by Minnowdunker on Aug. 4, 2020
It's wonderful to finally be able to keep a walleye for a nice meal from time to time. Our new minister of Environment & Parks has been a breath of fresh air, but we need a slot size on Sylvan for walleye. The whitefish are being slaughtered by poachers and I feel sorry for our Fish and Game officers who are seriously understaffed. We need to respect our resources so our future generations can enjoy them.
by Wstrncdn5time on Jul. 13, 2020
Fished Saturday. Lake was packed. Sunbreaker cove was a zoo. Lots of small rafts and kayaks fishing white fish in front of Sunbreaker, they were obviously catching them because saw them loading the coolers. Went to sandy point the usual spot again lots of boats walleye were slow. Went to half moon even more boats, even slower. Went in front of sunny side and got a nice jack. Had little bit success north end everything small though. It was slow and couldn’t believe how many people fishing. Open up walleye and floodgates.

Love you comment Big fish guy.

by Big fish guy on Jul. 1, 2020
It's been 20 years since I have enjoyed a fresh caught walleye fry in beer batter! Delicious, finally a move has been made to do something about the walleye population in this lake. Anglers are allowed 1 fish ( no size limit) please toss back gently anything bigger then 1-2 pounds but the small guys are plentiful and easy to catch from just about everywhere. In a few years we can expect a more normal mix of walleye, perch, pike and whites with a good chance at some real big fish! Enjoy the fishing please clean up more things then you came with show respect for the many homeowners and visiters and Bon Appetit

BAR Where about the lake it happened???

by blk on Mar. 24, 2020
Where on the lake was this. I was out there on Saturday the 21 st and the ice was solid!

by BAR on Mar. 24, 2020
I was at the lake on Sunday 22nd fishing was slow caught one Walleye and two whites. Almost unbelievable was that there was a Dodge Ram truck that had fallen through the ice. The cab was almost completely submersed. I do not know how this happened but was told that someone had drilled numerous 10" holes in a line and this truck had driven into this?????? I would submit a picture if I could.

by DC168 on Mar. 18, 2020
New 2020 regulation allow 1 walleye any size.

by Weeman on Mar. 7, 2020
I guess people haven't learned that size limits don't work need better management,

by Acadian502 on Mar. 4, 2020
Hi There. I'm heading out with a few kids this Saturday. Does anyone have any recent ice reports? In the past I've gone onto the lake at RR23 and had decent luck there. I haven't been to Sylvan yet this year. Any suggestions? Thanks

by cymchung@telus.net on Mar. 4, 2020
I absolutely disagree about NO size limit. Even white fish . I want them to put some limit on size with walleye, jack and white. so that is not over fish

by dothepuff on Feb. 23, 2020
18 inches plus of ice
by Catch-em on Feb. 22, 2020
Rumour is they are opening walley here .1 no size limit . Nice they are opening it if it’s true but I don’t like the no size limit though sounds like they want to have them overfished again .hhmmm

by Emlynn on Feb. 20, 2020
Anybody know the thickness? Going feb 29

by black kid on Feb. 8, 2020
North end around bay area. A few walleyes, very hard to see a white swim by. sometime have luck came as sudden and take the hook. Might get one or two. This year whites are slow. In the past few years Alberta fish and wildlife should limit the white fish size too with the limit you can keep.
by Husky John on Feb. 5, 2020

Fished north end of Sylvan lake today, on the ice by 9AM, Seen some whites but they were not interested. Caught one small walleye and seen more, Lots of flood water on ice and as little as 6.5 inches thick in one spot. 9 inches in most places, No trucks on ice.

by Timfisherman on Dec. 20, 2019
Ice was about 8 inches at palm bay last Thursday. Walked out a couple 100ft and caught 3 Walleye in about 2 hours. Water was only a few feet deep. I was dragging a heavy homemade shack, I didn't get out too far.

by DC168 on Dec. 18, 2019
Totally agree with the overly populated walleyes in Sylvan. A significant impact to other species. May be it's time to introduce walleye tags here. IMO.

by Big fish guy on Dec. 14, 2019
Another year of fishing the summer at Sylvan. Too many small walleye dominate all areas of Marina bay and the light house area. People have to release them and many end up belly up along the shore line. Good for the birds but not good for much else. I began targeting pike this year and the lake still can produce some impressive sizes. A couple actually scared me a bit bringing them to the boat so next summer I plan on having a cradle to help me more then these monsters with their release. Not a lot of them around anymore so sorry you have to find the spots yourself. Ice fishing season is now upon us and Whitefish are waiting I have yet to spot perch and have not for years now. Good luck. Stay warm

by Spfmtyily on Jul. 12, 2019
Does anyone know if the whitefish are still in the shallows in the morning right now

by Captain Dave on Jul. 9, 2019
For Pozzo. Worthwhile for walleye fishing, but release only. Pike are around, but not thriving, so release only. Whitefish are around too and you can keep. You can fish off the pier and off the new dock area at the marina and guaranteed to catch walleye and the odd pike. Have fun!

by Pozzo on Jun. 25, 2019
I would like to take my son out on a little camping / pike fishing lake. Is this a worthwhile lake ? Are there better options near by ?

Ice shacks do not need to be registered. Its voluntary. It was mandatory in the past but no longer is That's from their website

by Weeman on Dec. 4, 2018
Your shack does need to be registered as well as buffalo gull and sylvan man

by Risi04 on Dec. 4, 2018
Thanks Captain Dave! Glad you mentioned that. I talked to this guy who puts up a shack on sylvan every year. Told me it didn't need to be registered. So thanks for the heads up.

by Captain Dave on Dec. 2, 2018
Sylvan opens Dec.11th. 4 to 6" by pier. Contact the town office regarding when you're allowed to drop shacks. They do have to be registered:

by Risi04 on Nov. 29, 2018
Anyone check the ice levels? Also when is sylvan open to fish? Lastly, if I've were to be thick enough before the season starts, can you set up a shack and just not fish yet?

by Spfmtyily on May. 25, 2018
Thank you !

by B-dog on May. 25, 2018

by Spfmtyily on May. 25, 2018
Can someone tell me if the lake is ice free now ?

by Big fish guy on May. 25, 2018
Too late DC168, the walleye are already over populating Sylvan. They look like they might be starving as they are very thin and small. Only the occasional big pike still in here but I keep trying anyway. Very Very easy to catch a hundred walleye in one outing

by DC168 on Apr. 30, 2018
I have seen/caught/put back a few walleyes during ice fishing. It seems that Sylvan may turn into another Pigeon/Gull, in which less pike, perch and white. Eventually the walleyes have nothing to eat but themselves.

by Big fish guy on Apr. 10, 2018
So no tags for this summer again another year of tossing back hundreds of walleye without the ability to keep even one. Well I sure hope the perch come back in the size and numbers they used to be but I doubt it.

by rogerwhitefish on Apr. 2, 2018
Sylvan, Pine, Gull, Pigeon, Battle, Buck Lake all closed now. Any Lake with pike or walleye is closed for the spring spawn.

by browninghunter on Mar. 17, 2018
Great day for Perch! Roger whitefish is right

by Tom2017 on Mar. 15, 2018
Hi Rogerwhitefish, Thank you for the update. It sounds very scary to know how thick the ice is. I double my Auger might not penetrate through the ice layer.

by rogerwhitefish on Mar. 13, 2018
sorry about the double comments. trucks stiil driving on ice

by rogerwhitefish on Mar. 13, 2018
At RR 23 yesterday. Auger sank right to the clutch. Close to 36" of ice. Saw a couple of uninterested whites. Don't be afraid to buy an auger extension. Clearing the snow before drilling helps. Please follow the regs and practise "Catch and Release" to preserve the fishery.

by Tom2017 on Mar. 7, 2018

Caught over 30 whites the last couple days...you don't need to share your coffee with the guys at rr23. What a gong show...last couple days I think I had one group within 300 yards. Gold or copper PK spoon tipped with maggots. First year targeting whites man they are a fun aggressive fish at this time.

Hey Everyone. Anyone looking for an Ice Hut for Rent? My boys and I have built an 8'x16' beauty. Fully finished exterior and interior. More like a small cabin than an Ice Hut. Kitchen, Bathroom, Wood Stove, Beds and More. Comes fully stocked with Rods, TipUps, Tackle, Bait, Camp Stove, BBQ and even a Poker Table. Book it for a day trip or for an overnighter. We've done several already. This is a hobby gig for my Little Guys this winter to get them in the fresh air and save for their trip to Disney. If you'd like more info and pictures please drop us a line. sylvanlakeicefishing@gmail.com

Great place for me if you use tip ups with herring I got a 8lb pike and a 3lb burbot the burbot was caught on green smelt

by Flyfisher08 on Jan. 31, 2016
At Palm beach area, saw 4 whites in 2 hours swam right by my presentation, which was a silver kastmaster with a green wire worm 12-16" above it on 4 pound translucent. Also tried with yellow and orange couldn't get any to give a second look. Gonna try and make it out again and figure em out but any tips to shorten the process would be greatly appreciated as I have not fished sylvan much. Thanks in advance

Went out Friday night to Saturday morning for an evening and sunrise fish for burbs and whities out on Half Moon Bay. Disappointed in the whities action, but the walleye were fantastic all night long. -29C but about 2 dozen walleye pulled through the ice all night.Only 2 burbs.

by JiffyLP on Jan. 9, 2016
Bring some small jigs or just bare hooks, but small. Worms, shrimp again something small and you should be able to catch perch all day. Great fun for kids.... Have seen perch everywhere this year, nothing big though. The deeper the water the better. 200m NNW of Norglenwold would be good. 6" off the bottom.

Out at Sunbreaker today in 14.7 feet of water. Saw lots of whites but no bites. Had a decent pike take my red wire worm I was jigging for the whites instead of the minnow on a jig close to it. Go figure.

by HoneyBadger on Mar. 7, 2015
Went out to the same spot 10 FOW. Landed and released a little pike right off the hop. One white came in a few times but just wasn't having it. Same little minnow sized perch came in and was nibbling. Moved in to 7 FOW and caught a nice white that was released as well. Good 2 hours of fishing. Cheers

by HoneyBadger on Mar. 6, 2015
Forgot my GPS and couldn't find the ledge I usually sit on. Being lazy I moved to an old spot that I had fun with walleye's last year. 2 walleyes around 4:30. One whitefish kept me company playing tag with the hook but not taking it, and one fearless perch (minnow size) that hung around. Was a good day, 10 FOW. Will see what I can find tomo AM. Cheers

by Whitefish king on Mar. 5, 2015
@Wu J, We were out on Sylvan lake on the 28th of Feb and March 1st, we all caught limit in 2 hours. They will not bite wireworm at this time, you need to use bottom bouncers. You can buy them in the shop in Sylvan Town. We use our camera to track exactly where the whites are going, so that's always useful. Do 2 bouncers on the bottom, then hold it about mid water column. That's how we've been catching them!

by Whitefish king on Mar. 5, 2015

Don't worry rapala roland just lies about all his catches anyways. Don't believe a word that he says. He was already busted on another social media site. He posted a picture of fish found on a website and claimed that he caught them on gull

by HoneyBadger on Feb. 16, 2015
Slow day for me today. The only white I saw seemed very lethargic compared to the ones on friday. Change in weather maybe. Still a great day on the lake.

by yogibear on Feb. 16, 2015
Rapalaroland I stand corrected and optimistic that at least some people read the regulations that are a guide. I'm waiting on a response from the F/W about targeting Zero Detainment fish species as part of C/R for enjoyment in winter ice fishing because of the elements of exposure that exist causing stress and injury to the fish. I personally witness over the weekend at one of the lakes several people catching lots of fish and not knowing how to handle the fish properly to release it. That becomes a major concern. Open water fishing at least you can keep the fish in the water and manage it better for the survival of the fish. I have seen and heard of people bragging how many fish they caught over the weekend and had retained. more that their total allowed for their maximum limit including the fish they have at home. Wow I have that saying Limit your catch. Not Catch Your Limit. The good thing if they consume these fish daily they are up on the Omega 3. Another thing I observed is people culling their fish especially the perch. So if they do it with the perch I pretty sure they do it with other fish. The regulations are just guidelines to follow and there are other laws that F/W can impose on you that are not in the guidelines for fishing and hunting privileges in Alberta.

by Rapalaroland on Feb. 16, 2015
Hey yogi bear maybe you should read the regulations a little closer there bud!! Just says limit is zero on burbot it's not closed to angling!! And as for the walleye fishing(which is spectacular) do not need a lotto liscense to catch these fish just catch and release only!! When a limit is zero U may still catch but not keep!! When a lake or portion of a lake is closed to angling then u cannot fish there.

by yogibear on Feb. 16, 2015
Found several people asking where to catch certain fish that are not in season or a draw fish like walleye. If U don't hold a lottery licence its illegal to target that fish. Burbot is out of season in some lakes now because are spawning. Need to keep up with the regulations they change through out the season to manage the fish resources.

by HoneyBadger on Feb. 14, 2015
Lake is plenty safe to drive on, lots of ice. Snow is wet and deep in some spots. 4wd recommended. Noticeable change in the aggressiveness of the whites yesterday. Checked the bellies as they are eating lots of little shrimps, and small minnows. Cheers

by D20 on Feb. 14, 2015

Thanks Slew. I will take any info you got. Ice fishing is sure a lot different than flyfishing. Lol.

by Curt k on Feb. 8, 2015
The five of Diamonds may work, but you are better off with a wireworm and small test line. Maggots can be used. Seen lots of whites in deeper water, waiting for the burbot to spawn as the whites will be more aggressive. Then try the five of diamonds.
by WCJames on Feb. 8, 2015
Slew; Is the five of diamonds black and yellow or red and yellow? Do you jig this or let it sit? Where do you fish on Sylvan? Sorry about so many questions, I am new to ice fishing. Thanks

by Pikster on Oct. 7, 2014
It's because we have a government that can't seem to manage anything. There are many lakes that are similar in Walleye population causing a huge imbalance in population. I'm starting to thing they are trying to create Walleye trophy lakes. I'm so frustrated and dont even know where to start.

if you go west all the way to rang road 23 and drive north there is a natural boat launch and a few people go there to catch pike and walleys some do really well pike up to 6 or 7 pound from shore and small walleys 2 pound or less

by Rapalaroland on May. 22, 2014
For all you sure fisherman Make sure that you really look at the regulations book and see where the closure is on Sylvan Lake for the walleye spawning. There are also signs posted at the marinas It is pretty much from the furthest tip out and nor Glenwall village all the way across to the pier that jumps out by the volleyball courts. DNR watch the marinas like hawks. It is closed from now until July 1

Barely busted through ice with hand auger, handle was pretty close to ice when it finally went through.

by Eco on Mar. 3, 2014
If you wanna catch some big pike for fun, head to badger lake. There are some big monsters and amazing they are caught in 4ft of water.

by Rapalaroland on Mar. 3, 2014
I disagree with the overfishing of these lakes lots of people come out here and don't catch a thing. Yes the lakes do get heart hit hard but they are definitely not overfished. Just because there is a bunch of traffic on the lake doesn't mean everybody's catching fish and a lot of those people are just out there hanging out snowmobiling,ATVing. having a fire and a hotdog roast on the lake ect..... The conservation officers are doing everything that they can to help control the population like at Gull ake dropping the whitefish limit from 5 to 3 is one way. I do however agree with closing down the big pike population which are your spawning fish and only keeping the smaller ones.

by MarkDykstra on Mar. 2, 2014
Hey not to familiar with the lake where would be a good spot for perch I Have never caught one before and everyone says its fun looking to come up next monday the 10th

by BoBo on Mar. 2, 2014
Hello Eco yup I agree I think both Sylvan and Gull lake are way over fished and the amount of fish caught is WAY down. I still see lots of people post there catching lots of fish at Sylvan and Gull which is great but I am a seasoned fishermen and I go with 3 other gents al the time to Sylvan and Gull and we catch very few fish. It's not that we don't know what we're doing it's just these two lakes are extremely over fished. I also think Fish and Wildlife have it completely backwards we should release any Pike over 63CM and keep the smaller ones as the bigger ones are the ones that reproduce so were keeping the wrong ones. Also I think they should go to a zero limit for a few years at these two lakes to help the numbers. I have talked to many of the older fishermen and they all agree the numbers are way down from years past. Case in point 20 years ago when one went to Brownlows there would 20 trucks on the ice on a Saturday now there is 200 plus. Great to see fishing has become so popular however fish populations has suffered because of it. Some fishermen do still report great luck at these two lakes which is awesome I just wish they would send some luck my way hehehehe.

Curious if people think Sylvan is being over fished? Any plans to stock more fish? Used to go out and catch a bunch, been skunked a few times this year.

Headed onto west side off the lake today off range road 20. Got one decent white fish. Had my camera in the water and saw a few other fish lurking in the shadows but weren't too interested. Tried everything in my tackle box but no luck. It was a good day fishing ,nice weather kids had fun and my wife enjoyed playing with the new underwater camera.

by iFish Guest on Feb. 16, 2014
I use a camera all the time and it does not bother the fish at all. Some even swim right up to it i just drill a hole 5-10 feet away from the hut and put it down there. I use a aqua-vu micro 5

by Rapalaroland on Feb. 16, 2014
U don't need it when fishing in 7 ft or shallower I choose not to use it

by Walleye Seeker on Feb. 16, 2014
About camera scaring white. Why do not you try turning your camera to look down then keep the camera as high as you can,out of the way of the whites. May help??

by Wdafxup on Feb. 14, 2014
Sunbreaker cove is a honey hole when it comes to burbot... My biggest one was at RR 23 but the other side of the lake you see one almost every day... I've always had good luck with minnows. Have em a foot or less off the bottom, even right off bottom since those guys are always scanning pickin up anything they see... And I mean anything.. Just remember that you can't keep them after Feb 1st

by GS1 on Feb. 13, 2014

by Cdhaugrud on Jan. 31, 2014
Any luck in deeper water? Went out a ways ended up in about 20 ft of water. Tried for a bit- no action. Maybe I'm not patient enough? Have been usually fishing in about 6-12ft, seeing lots of action down hole, but no fish on ice yet this winter. Any suggestions?
by Cdhaugrud on Jan. 31, 2014

Out from RR23, that was the minimum thickness of any holes we drilled. Used a tape to measure.

by iFish Guest on Jan. 31, 2014

by iFish Guest on Jan. 27, 2014
I rented one of RapalaRolands shacks on the weekend.Great setup you have yourself. I took my two sons 5&7 and they really enjoyed themselves. Loved watching on the big screen the fish swim up to their hooks and take the bait!!! They both managed to catch 4 fish each. He then shut the camera off and showed them that u don't need a camera to catch fish!!i thought this was really a neat way to show my boys that technology isn't always the best thing when u have knowledge. His knowledge of what's going on in the lake is exceptional!!! Great experience and would recommend his rentals to all.thank you again Roland and we will see you again soon. by Rapalaroland on Jan. 27, 2014
I use camera too but not for whites. They have extremely sensitive lateral lines in their bodies and the cameras emit and electromagnetic pulse that the whites can pick up and they don't seem to bite as well.I have caught them on camera but its not near as good as when u don't use it!!

by Rapalaroland on Jan. 26, 2014
The white fish are really starting to fire up at Sylvan!!!!

by iFish Guest on Jan. 25, 2014
Hello fellow fishermen and I could use your opinion on something. I have been fishing whites for 35 years and have caught my fair share of whites over the years but last winter I bought a fishing camera and after a few trips out I am convinced white fish are scared of the camera. I drill two holes 3 feet apart in my tent and I have no issues with the Pike or perch but the whites come within a couple of feet of my hook then turn away. I have tried a bunch of different hooks but it don't work. I see a ton of whites on the camera but nothing comes within 2 feet of my hook so it has to be the camera. Has anyone else had the same problem?

by Rapalaroland on Jan. 25, 2014
No I have not caught any jumbo whites in Sylvan just regular white fish. A big one out of Sylvan is 2 1/2 pounds The ones out of Sylvan Lake taste a lot better than the ones out of Gull ake I find. The meet is a lot firmer not so mushy.

I got the pike by the last set of weeds just after the last marina. I was In fairly deep water but could still just see those weeds that stretch up from the bottom! Used big lures tho! The ones we used were almost the size of the little walleyed we were catching

by Schnidy on Aug. 25, 2013
It was a great day on the water today! Seemed like anywhere you put a jig and minnow down the walleye were hitting, the pike where a lot harder to track down but was able to land a 13lb an 11lb and a 6lb. They were the only three we caught all day.

by PlatinumBarMan on Aug. 21, 2013
Doyle don't broadcast the free boat launch haha. I've caught quite a few decent walleye on Sylvan this summer but they're not as big on average as they are at Pigeon. Not many small pike lurking which is good for the walleye numbers, but most of the pike that are in the lake are huge. Friend just got a 20+ pounder the other day (he swears it was over 25 lbs but he didn't have a scale with him to verify). Pic was really nice though! Watching the flyboard folks on this lake is pretty cool too.

Oakman, there are only a few lakes in AB where that can even happen and I actually beleive the person. Sylvan is not one of them. I've only been lucky enough to see one 30lber, but many almost 30. They don't come from Sylvan. Like to see some pictures with a landmark in the background. Maybe all the perch will come back and the alberta record walleye will magically appear from Sylvan too!

Here's a document on Ice weight capacities produced by the government of Manitoba. Take into consideration the Ice texture and thickness compare with the chart. Here the site http://www.gowalleye.com/ice_test_info.pdf. This document clearly describes what ice properties you need to consider before entering a unknown sheet of ice!! Remember ice conditions can change by the day week and definitely by the month! Climate, snow pack, water temp and currents as well as fresh and hot water springs all have an effect on ice thickness and must be considered when determining ice safety!! Current ice conditions are displaying a rating of well over 10,000lbs!! Play safe everyone!

One hole was in 12' and 3' away was 18', 6' out further was 28'. I was right on the spot exactly. Going tomorrow out from boat launch. Fingers crossed.

by Curt j on Aug. 23, 2012
some people and thier fish stories. At least make it believable. Once again good luck on findin a trophy at Sylvan.( one 20lber in 30+ years now that's believable )

by Buster11 on Aug. 22, 2012
We have fished Sylvan since the early 80's and only ever caught one pike over 20 lbs on a 5 of diamonds size 1, jigs work for walleye and perch are better caught in winter through the ice.

by Wayne on Aug. 10, 2012
Mitch1234 posted sept 29 2011 that he caught a pike over 36 lbs. I would consider that trophy status. Mitch if you see this post, I would like to see photos of your fish and discuss other details of your catch. Thanks.Wayne waynebacon1@gmail.com

by Curt j on Aug. 10, 2012
Try Keho or Newell, you won't find trophies at sylvan that's for sure.

by Wayne on Aug. 9, 2012
I will be working through the fall right on the water near sunbreaker cove. I will be in search of trophy size pike in my spare time. Or should I say fishing and working in my spare time! I am an avid Muskie fisherman from southern Ontario. And am considering bringing some large lures with me. Can anyone provide some tips or tactics. Thanks

by tyger on Mar. 6, 2012
hey thanks aswell Roland. i am thinkn i am going out for one last tie in the ice this weekend may try rainy creek area then 1111

by Wild west Wilverine on Mar. 2, 2012
Thanks for the tips Roland, don't know if I'll get out there again this winter but good to know for next freeze

by RapalaRoland on Feb. 29, 2012
For the whites I go 2 rr24 off rainy creek rd and fish off the first point on the left. There is a nice grassbed there only about 6 ft deep. Use a pale green or black wireworm. As 4 the perch I will keep that a secret. All I can say is go deep and a ice sonar is a great helper. Happy fishing and best of luck 2 ya!!!

by Wild west Wilverine on Feb. 29, 2012
Roland what were you catching the whites and perch on and where abouts, was out on Saturday and didn't even get about between four lines

by RapalaRoland on Feb. 29, 2012
Got limit of whites on Feb 28 morning. Then went on a search 4 perch!! have only caught 3 to 6 inchers there before. Some of the older fellas I've chatted with say that there are big ones in there. And yep if ya drill enough holes throughout the year u will eventually find them.Took home 5 that were all around 12 inches woo hoo!!!!
by bwackwabbit on Feb. 28, 2012
Dead as a dornail, lots of pike lookin' but just can't get bit.

where abouts where u bwackwabbit???

by Minnowdunker on Feb. 27, 2021
Well at two months of ice fishing at Sylvan my worst fears have come true, the walleye have been wiped out, very rare to for someone to catch a walleye through the ice or even see one for that matter. Keep it up for another summer boys and the whitefish will be gone to, then you'll have to buy your fish at the grocery store like everyone else!
