Got on the lake from the staging area with my side by side no problem! Just went out on the coldest weekend of the year apparently haha. Caught a few nice perch but couldn't find the numbers I wanted! Anyone want to give a guy a couple of tips where to go and what to use
by Fishslayer2 on Mar. 11, 2017
Because the trail is s&$t.... The trail leaving the staging area you are right it's ohv only. The trail that crosses Helena onto Blackett and over to kanard we drive it all the time....... Pretty sure if I am in there with my truck and the park wardens show up they would ticket you....... Call lac la biche parks and ask. There is no issue. I have called to find out
by KRONZYFISHBATTER on Mar. 11, 2017
The trails leading into this lake are for OHV vehicles only. Just like it says at the beginning of the trails. If you can access it with the truck why do the DNR not come in with trucks then?
by Fishslayer2 on Mar. 10, 2017
You can access the lake with a truck threw the trail that crosses Helena. We do it all the time. And so do others. Stopped all the time by the park wardens and there is no problem.
by Chevybass on Mar. 8, 2017
You can't access the lake with a truck you will get a ticket by fish an game it's only for sleds/arc/utv no trucks
by Spen on Feb. 28, 2017

How was the quad ride in? Just curious about the trail condition with all this rain we've been getting.
by Dice Derbi on May. 27, 2016
Love this lake! Quadded in and had a beauty day. Back and forth between here and Kinnaird but the action was great for perch , walleye and jack all day.
by 2lbperch on Mar. 29, 2016
Let's just clear the air here, there is truck access and it's always been that way. However if your boat needs to be hauled behind a truck to get it into the lake you aren't going to get it in here and you would need to come in from Jackson with your boat if its a decent sized pull for the quad. We as fishermen need to get along and put our silly differences aside. Take what you need, and leave the big girls so we can leave our lakes in prime condition for the next generation

All u people with atvs it's not ur personal lake quite your big lie do u know why there is no more big walleye in the lake because when u atvers finish ur perch fishing u stop at a walleye spot and catch a bunch to eat and u think trucks r bad for the lake give ur heads a shake anyone want to go to Blackett next year give me a shout next year theirs 12 to 14 inch perch and I know how to catch them
Talk to g w he will tell everyone that whoever keeps locking that gate is a goof NOBODY has the right to look that gate I drove in 5 years in a row including last. Year was in their last year with a 2014 f 150 by4
by Romanchuk8 on Mar. 24, 2016
Depends how you get there. The gate into the bush trail that takes you to Helena is now locked. I haven't been this year, but last year there was only room for quads or skidoos to go around the locked gate. I'm sure you could clear some bush with a chainsaw, but the trail has grown in a lot. Can probably get a truck in through the Jackson access point..
by Richdouglas on Mar. 21, 2016
Who ever said this lake is atv or sled access only is a goof u have been able to get in with a 4x4 for 40 years and it hasn't changed people are just pigs only to think that or lye to other people about the access
by FISHLIPS on Mar. 7, 2016
I heard F&W busted a few guys for open liquor and no registration on quads a guy told us on the lake.
by Rapalaroland on Feb. 20, 2016
It's awesome this lake is atv or sled access only!!!! Keeps the fishing pressure down in the winter!!!
by Whitefish18 on Jan. 26, 2016
That's pretty big I hear they can get up to 16" In there
by Jess918 on Jan. 24, 2016
@Whitefish18 - we've caught 10-12" perch out of there with the odd 13". We just use little jigs or most often tiny little spoons with fresh maggots on them, works great
Was out there on Friday, started out slow caught one 10-11" perch, few bites, as the afternoon came in caught some pike, nothing huge, and right at dark the walleye started biting, nothing big enough to take. Lots of snow out there, probably getting to be too much for quads snowmobiles only I'd say.
by Whitefish18 on Jan. 8, 2016
how big do the perch get in here? 11''? and how do you catch them? thanks
by fisher777 on Dec. 31, 2015
