Fished from 6:00am-1:00pm Wednesday July 17th. Caught 1 Raindow 4.3lbs. Haven't caught a Tiger in 4 trips, but always catch a 3-4lb Rainbow. Tried all kinds of flies and different spoons. Went back to my winter go to of Northlands banana jig with minnow to catch the rainbow. Come on winter so I can nail the tigers again. LOL! This lake is definitely very heavily pressured. Always 3-4 boats even in the middle of the week. Can only imagine it on the weekend.

by Cajed1 on Jul. 3, 2019
I would imagine because it's being managed as a quality lake as there are already quality fish in there. Its been that way since spring 18 Great to see one of my favourite lakes.

Why cant you keep Tiger trout anymore?

by 10 and 2 Harrison on Jun. 30, 2019
Signs are up saying all tiger trout must be released. As for the few rainbows landed they still have black spot parasite. NO THANKS!

6-7 inches as of today

Ran into some elitist fly fishermen on Sunday. Apparently they owned the whole south end of the lake even tho only indicator fishing 20' in front of their boat, but heaven forbid you got within 100' to change trolling directions to avoid them. Truth be told they anchored in my intended trolling path I should have been the one asked no them to fish elsewhere.

Disgusting black spot parasite. One bow I kept so full of black spots I would not eat it. I heard it's harmless if properly cooked but ruined the apatite.

by Alstepanuk on Dec. 24, 2016

Lower Chain Lakes now has tiger trout! I was using raw shrimp pieces on a small yellow jig hook. Set up was very close to the bottom at a depth of 10 feet. Caught 16 rainbows and 2 tigers. The tigers were each 11 inches long. Released per the ACA and ERSD request.

Fish are diseased and full of bumps. Looks like warts, sounds like parasites are getting to them. Good fishing but won't eat them.

Has anyone been out here lately? With all the rain I would really like to know how the roads are; I would like to bring my trailer, but want to make sure I can make it.

Ice is 21 inches thick, fishing good for Rainbow Trout. 12 feet of water with Jackfish Lures Wire Worms. Landed 5 great fish put back all but 1. Spent 21/2 hours out on lake. Saw lots on camera.

by Team JFL on Dec. 27, 2012
Fishing was good today, got 1 three pound rainbow. Put back a bunch of smaller trout. Wire worms (JackfishLure) brand, loaded with maggots or trout worm was the ticket today.

by Jackfish on Dec. 25, 2012
Caught 4 nice Rainbow, lost a bigger one. Wire worms with pink maggots worked very well. Ice is 12 inches. And a little bit of overflow.

by Kjj on Dec. 22, 2012

by jaged on Aug. 23, 2012
was out this weekend that just passed with my buddy and his kid wwe managed to get 16 in an hour or so a couple of two ponders.

by PapaFish on Aug. 18, 2012
Caught 7 smallish rainbows after 3.5 hours, and kept a couple. After cleaning the fish I noticed black spots in the flesh. Found out it is a parasite-salvelinus fontinalis. They grow into worms when eaten by a loon, and live inside the loons mouth. I could handle probably a few that could be cut out, but these parasites are fairly wide spread. They are deep in the flesh, on the scales, imbedded in the fins...Yucky:( Kind of takes the fun out of a good day of fishing. Too bad, it's a real nice lake and fishing is typically good. Will have to be catch and release for my future trips until this problem goes away!

by jaged on Aug. 14, 2012
was out a couple a weeks ago got at least 50 in two hours. was using black and yellow panther marten. great day of fishing for rainbow. And if you go about 4km up the road and down the bush road upper is good for pike and perch.

by Fishndoc on Jul. 21, 2012
July 20/2012: Only one on the lake this day. Nice little lake for float tube and spent a few hours nymph fishing. Fish were rising nicely early in the morning, calm and wind did pick up. Trout were biting on Muddler Minnows and bead head nymphs. Worm flies were working well also. Fishing from shore, it looks like folks were using marshmallows, cheese and other types of baits by observing some "shoreline refuse". Nice park with campground area; great beach for kids on a hot day.

by Slbenfica16 on Mar. 10, 2012
Fished today out by the beaver dam and limited out in less then two hours. Between the two of us caught like 16, had fun catch and releasing. Only a couple smaller ones rest of them 1.5lbs to 3lbs!

by Deej on Feb. 17, 2012
Fished last Sunday by the beaver dam and caught 13 trout. One 3lb, two 2lb and the rest 1lb to 1.5lb. Ice was close to three feet thick. Was an excellent day.

by Slbenfica16 on Dec. 31, 2011
Fished for 6 hours today, between the two of us caught six. Four over 12" and two smaller ones. Fish were moving pretty slow, maybe due to the extremely high winds. No snow on the ice, 16" thick. Can't wait for the next trip out there!
