Down sterner road about 5.5 km and then left for 2.5 km is one way. That takes you to the monument on the south end of the lake.... The other way was up the Kirby main road back toward Conklin a couple km... I believe km 31? Maybe. Kind of an angle backwards corner if you are coming from the south. It was called weasel road when I was up there a couple years ago... Couple km in there and off the end of the 90 degree left turn. From there you are fairly close to the west end of the lake

Can anyone tell me where the road that the water use is located? Is it private or public? Love to go back again, but the Kirby Lake road is too rough unless you have an atv.

Dont turn at the Conklin corner. Go south another 11km and then turn east, way better road and cuts off about 30 minutes on your trip. The 2.5 km trip into the lake was extremely rough. Lots of big holes, big ruts and a rough ride. Once you are on thee lake the fishing was awesome. 55 jack fish in 5 hours. Most around 3-4 lbs, but a big 10 lb by the island. Will try and get back there if they manage to fix the road.

The main access that I know is turn off the Kirby main road at km 34 (I think it's 34) on to sterner road. Go to km 5.5 and turn left onto the Kirby lake road. It's 2.5 km into the lake. Watch for water trucks. Use radio communication if equipped. We ran the east pike channelwhen I was up there

Hey guys or girls ..can someone tell me the best access road to get onto in winter.. I'm looking to go fishing?

by FlounderPounder on Mar. 18, 2015

Weasel road was the access this year I was told. Not sure what km marker but right off the Kirby road. Also last couple years have gone down sterner road (km 34) to km 6 an in that way

I'm at Sunday Creek camp and want to hit this lake before I leave how do I access?

by FlounderPounder on Feb. 4, 2015

Ok... That's awesome! Thanks for the info. I probably did see you out there... You were on the pipeline I'm assuming?? Lol. My wife and I are probably heading up there family day long weekend. Going to try Kirby for sure and maybe Winefred. I'll post results. I heard access is off of Kirby road this year, not off of sterner road. I will post hotspots as well.

Fished this lake most sundays from Jan to April last winter. Had some very good days. Pike from 6-15 lbs, lots of small pearch, even a few burbot and whitefish. Right out front from where you were drawing water. Probably saw us there

Just curious if anyone has been on this lake in the last year... I used to work up there and hauled water out of this lake. I tried ice fishing last winter, but with the -30 weather and no tent, I didn't stay long ... Had one bite. Have heard of big fish coming out of here. Any info would be great. I am going to try to make a trip there this winter. Will post my results

Walked in last night and had 20 pike landed in 90 minutes, love this lake but never had a boat on it will be spending more time on this one forsure. Only thing that bugs me is how people disrespect our land and lake, garbage and cans every where, I will be taking a few garbage bags each time I go to help clean it up.
