At the provincial park there is 11"of solid ice where we were at and about 1 to 2" of weak ice. Some trucks were on but we walked it still.

Fish-finder Alex, use the boat launch at Mulhurst, and the south point is pretty good for walleye,

Guys, what park of the lake is the best for walleye fishing? And what is the best boat launch to choose? First time going Pigeon.

Yepp, jighead n minnow. Or some typa Carolina rig with one on there too. Trolling won't work the best, gotta get a few inches off the bottom for the walleye

Fished off the provincial park last night for a couple hours. Didn't catch anything. All the other boats around were catching fish by the dozen. Tried trolling with a 5 of diamonds, jigging with a white grub, and casting and retrieving a spinner. Not even a bite. If someone can point me in the right direction on how to get these fish to bite that would be greatly appreciated!!!

Fished Pigeon on July 12. Three of us were on the lake for 3 hours. Caught about 35 walleye each. Mostly 3+ lbs. couldn’t keep them off the line at times.

We visited friends at Pigeon Lake this long weekend. It was unbelievable how the walleye were biting. First catch ever for the lilman. Catch and release only unless you had tags. One of the best days ever! 6 of us caught over 50 fish!! WOW!

Battle lake just a few km down the road is more of a pike lake catch and release only but pretty hard not to catch. Plus much larger walleye than Pigeon.

by Markeemark on Jun. 25, 2019

If your looking to do some pike fishing I’d suggest Wizard lake that’s a good pike fishery.

by Markeemark on Jun. 25, 2019

Pigeon is excellent for walleye fishing. I wouldn’t consider it a pike destination I’ve never personally caught any sizeable pike on the lake. Plus pike are C&R at pigeon.

I would like to take my son out on a little camping / pike fishing lake. Is this a worthwhile lake ? Are there better options near by ?

by Markeemark on Jun. 23, 2019

Awesome walleye fishing on the hump around 20ft of water. Water still nice and clean so far.

Drove on at Mulhurst today, some minor ruts but nothing a 4x4 with decent clearance can't get through. Ice was 30%u201D or so, top 4%u201D or so was white and the rest was good. Diesels were cruising around, should be fine for driving until the closer next weekend as long as the launches hold together...

4 hours today 2 guys and not a bite. Really windy and cold only 1 other guy out here. Not the worst day I've had but getting skunked in bad weather is never good. Tips up would blow over with snow in about 10 mins. Hope someone else did better.

by Weekendwarrior on Feb. 22, 2019

@Sanctio Thanks so much that's a similar technique to what I do also. Hoping to not get skunked but I'll say the other lakes i frequent ( wab, wizard, lac st Anne) amount others have been slow this year. Places that were my go to spots have been dead. But I really appreciate the tip. Happy fishing and safe travels

by Sanctio on Feb. 22, 2019

@Weekendwarrior. for walleye I use Tip ups or autos with a minnow on a jig head. Then i'll jig with a sinking rattle bait or fly/spoon. fishing has been slow this year and I usually fish west of silver beach, around the rise. Used to average about 6+ a day but this year Ive been skunked 3 out of 4 times with the exception being a single pike 28. Heard tell that the best bite is in the evening these days.

Going to pigeon this weekend to try and fill some tags. Haven't been ice fishing here for a few years. Any walleye or perch tips would be appricated? No requesting spots maybe just some preferred bait choices. And also I see in the regs there's a portion of the lake is closed all year, does anybody know some Land marks that make it clear once your on the lake so I don't go into that area by mistake. Thanks in advance
