Out on a boat on Saturday, my wife hooked two, but couldn't land them. Though I had a line in the water, turns out I was only there to drive the dinghy.

I'd like to take the kids out fishing today. I've caught trout out of here, but never perch. Anyone willing to share a tip on what we should use to catch them?

by Kyle1638493 on Aug. 11, 2019
Any tips or hot spots for perch here?

by Troy78 on Aug. 11, 2019
There was perch in this lake 30 years ago. The had stocked brown trout and there was a healthy population of good size browns and rainbows. Then someone threw in perch. Browns were the first to go. Would take a boat to the far side and catch 100 perch in a day easy. But none with any size. To my knowledge they never killed the lake off but over the years the perch seemed to disappear. Back in a big way now. Was there last weekend and piles of guys fishing for them. One guy kept 4 but they were not big.

I caught a bunch of Perch as well, called the Stoney Plain office, talked to the biologist, was news to them, but needless to say they were not happy... Looks like a bucket biologist... I guess they actually caught a guy with a five trying to put them in one of the lakes... It's going to rapidly to down now, and the Perch will take over... Just like Hasse

by Troy78 on Jul. 5, 2018
Used to fish perch on the far side of the lake from the parking lot. There was piles of them. Never anything big though. 10" at most and that's probably stretching it. I remember that lots of then had growths and deformities. But have not seen one in ages. There also use to be brown trout that where stocked in there. Probably 25 years ago.
by Chiumade on Jun. 28, 2018
We have a great day yesterday, windy day still able to catch trouts.

Hey Everyone, so has anyone had much success with perch fishing here? I have had many fun nights fishing for trout but never ever seen and of the perch. Seems weird the limit is 15 if there are none to be found. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks D

Thankyou very much

I use shrimp and when its slow I use orange floating powerbait with glitter. Always use small gold tungsten jigs for my dead bait and then I usually use some sort of jigging lure most of the time a vertical jigging rap.

by Ride rank on Jan. 15, 2018
What did you use to catch the 10lber on? Slow fishing during the day always catch a bunch right before dark but only 12-16" through the ice. No big ones I can find the big ones in the summer on flys but idk where they seem to be in the winter.
by Big fish guy on Jan. 15, 2022
