Ice Report: 6 in
6-7 inches of black ice just off RR55, there’s a layer of slush on top of the ice under the fresh snow

approx 4" clear ice covered with 2" of snow/air trapped ice. I'd feel more comfortable with another inch of clear. But I'm still here after a couple hours out there

They stocked this lake with walleye 2 years ago so they haven't had time to get big yet. Last year none were bigger then 1.2 pounds, if ppl are catching 1.5 to 2 pound walleye then they are growing. Maybe in 5 years we will have a epic walleye fishery %uD83D%uDC4D%uD83C%uDFFD

I fished in father's day with my dad and brother. Trolled for walleye. Never have I ever caught so many walleye. Over 40 for the 4 hours I was there. Also had 3 or 4 times where all 3 of us guys had a triple header. Was beautiful.

Is any one getting any walleye over 2 lbs in this lake, constantly, or is this the norm?

Wow caught 12 Walleye off the shore yesterday, single hook with minnows used the whole jar of (24?) also did some reading up on lake since yesterday's comment. All caught near edge of lip which is best to be hoped for with C&R. Fun day, wind was %u201Ccold%u201D Canada Day weekend and cold, oi %uD83D%uDE00

Fished Wabamun twice this week, fishing has been great! Lots of walleye, al very healthy, and several small, healthy pike. Seeing them make a comeback is great!

Hey do I need a boat to fish here? Is there a public dock to use?

Star Star Star Star Star

by Verjario on May. 21, 2019

Where is a good spot for fishing in wabamun? Off the main dock? Or good spots for shore fishing

Anythingfishing: i was out there last sunday and drove onto the ice by wabamun and fallis point and it was fine, slushy but fine. Than went out again on tuesday and it along the shore it was looking pretty thin, tried walking out about 10 feet and i was stepping through into the lake the sand and rocks

Verjario- what part of the lake were you at where the ice looked sketchy ? i was out last weekend and ice was good , (near power plant)

Star Star Star Star Star

by Verjario on Mar. 28, 2019

How is the ice, was out there a few days ago and ended up leaving because the ice all along the shore lines looked sketchy

Star Star Star Star Star

by anythingfishing on Mar. 27, 2019

we got some nice ones in about 5 feet of water , 3 big pike and the rest walleye but seemed almost like they were chasing them around , that was by the power plant first time seeing big pike in a while

Where's a good spot to find those big northern pike on this lake? Been all over by the wabamun access and fallis point, anywhere from the weedy 4' of water to 29' of water and all o had seen are a couple small jack, a fair few small walleye and some lake whites

by Verjario on Mar. 23, 2019

Was out friday, by wabamun access pretty well all tge snow is melted off, still about 23" off solid black ice underneath with 4-5" of white ice on top. Lake access getting pretty slushy. Fallis point still has a bit of snow on top and 23" solid black ice and 2-3" of white ice, access isn't as slushy. 4x4 definitely recommend for both access

Ice is really starting to rot in the first 6 - 8 inches. Especially on north shore. Fishing was slow till about 7pm then the walleye moved in shallow. Find 8ft of water over sand and the walleye are stacked like cord wood. Some decent size mixed in there too.

FishAb- was out there both Wednesday and Friday, by fallis point and over by the main wabamun entrance and had close to 2 feet of ice

by Ilovepipelines on Mar. 16, 2019

Just something to think about, but as a resident of south seba we have been getting updates on the proposed new boat launch by the power plant, the documents say when it opens all the “local” lake access points will be closed, if that happens ice fishing access will be reduced sudstantially

Fished south seba all winter, very slow, small walleye but on a positive note have seen more whites than usual, still overall a poor experiance, from trophy pike lake to....

Hows the fishing by seba beach?

Star Star Star Star Star

by Verjario on Mar. 13, 2019

Joshjames- roughly what area of the lake were you fishing?

Star Star Star Star Star

by River_rat on Mar. 13, 2019

Varjario: Yes there is access towards the south along the shoreline once you get to Fallis towards the point, 4x4 with aggressive tires was a must on Saturday for that area be careful when driving in that soft snow.

by Verjario on Mar. 12, 2019

Ihave never finished wabamun, Is their an easier access to the lake to get to fallas point other than using the main lake access?

Star Star Star Star Star

by River_rat on Mar. 9, 2019

Caught a few walleye west of Fallis in 20FT, didn't get much action anywhere else on the lake in multiple spots and depths, 4x4 is a must especially when driving off the beaten path

39" pike in 20 ft. Of water off the west side of Fallis point. Used a 8" mackeral deadbait on a tip up 2 feet off bottom. Bought a pack of 5 baits for 6 bucks from superstore. Fished from noon till 4. No bites or fish seen while jigging various spoons and jig heads.

Surely you don't think a larger pike won't eat a small walleye or walleye minnows do you ??

Since a lot of fishermen think walleye are a problem( myself included). Make sure you fill out the surveys from Alberta realm . A couple months back they did a big one on changing walleye regs/tags etc. Our feedback is helpful as we are the ones out there actually sportfishing. Just to be clear I am in no way associated with Alberta realm or any of its affiliates. I really believe the better we are as fishermen and outdoorsmen the more plentiful our resources will become.

It used to be a hot spot for whites. It is now dominated by walleyes. Walleyes eat perch, whites and small pikes. These species suffers. It is snow extremely unbalanced. Unfortunately, Pigeon, Gull and Sylvan are in similar situation.

Stinkfinger it’s not CN’s fault that the fish aren’t biting the water has been tested and given the all clear years ago, if you want something to blame I’ll give you a couple reasons. 1st they introduced walleye which took over the lake. 2nd I’ve seen more than one now people keeping fish from there. 3rd don’t forget about us fishermen we sometimes use bait and gut hook a fish and sometime they don’t survive. So don’t blame CN cause you can’t catch a fish.

Was out Monday. A couple hundred yards out from boat launch. 2 Walleye and a Jack in 2 hours. Saw a few more.

Was out on Sunday from 7-7. Started out slow. Moved spots and got on them! 12 walleye, 4 pike, including a 15lb healthy momma pike!! They are there, ya just have to find them.

A friend toured the lake by sled on the weekend and talked to a dozen guys and the fishinh was horrible from one end to the other. I haven't heard any good reports for 3 winters now and most of the fish are small and sickly. Obviously this lake is headed for a total collapse.
