Fished the north side, around the corner near the channel, got nothing. Fished off the boat launch, nothing. Fished a few feet from the north dam, caught 1 pike, 1 walleye. Great day but the fishing could've been better.

First time to Lake McGregor. Easy ride out and found the campsite and boat launch with little effort. Situated ourselves a bit south of the launch and on the west side of the lake. From this blog most indicated to go to the east side but saw houses there and didn't want to drive on the ice. Never fished for Pime before or jiggled while ice fishing. Nice weather day but not a lot of activity had a few bites and caught (released) 1 nice Pime and lost another. Seemed to me that the Pike were higher up and not close to the bottom. Used some minnows on jigs and whistling jig heads that did work! Wondering if we were doing it right???

Thanks for report blk! A couple of questions - What depth of water were you in? How was the water clarity?
