Well, a very long day for us because the auger didn't like the cold. Thank you to the locals in Milo who were very helpful offering to punch some holes in the ice for us or to even to let us use their workshop to work on the auger. Very welcoming locals! We finally got hooks in the water near the boat launch at about 15:45. Had 20" of ice, but there was a very big pressure ridge down the lake on the west side. Fished until 19:00 and only managed to bring one pike up out of the hole, and had a few other strikes. Didn't see anything else on the camera where we were. Bad day fishing is better than a good day working!

Be hauling my Glastron next trip
Wish Fish and Wildlife could listen, cause its sad to catch so many skinny fish, been like this last 3 years.
I was trying to warn people.
Lake is up about 4 feet since last I was there. Still needs about a metre.
Some people can launch depending on what they drive.
Fished off rock wall again, 11 Jacks and 5 Walleye.
Its bothers me cant keep a pike or walleye, everything I have caught this year is skinny to starving. These fish are to plenty and not enough to eat.
by firstname.lastname@example.org on May. 15, 2016
fYI: Water level very low, difficult to launch a boat as it is very shallow, save yourself the drive from Calgary, wish I had!
by Salmo on May. 12, 2016
Oh and about 25 walleye and 2 small jacks on spinner rigs and crawler harnesses. Nothing huge but a fun opening day.
I'm a little confused by the low water comments, it is down but not too a level where you can't launch. I put my boat in (17 foot aluminum) with no problem on opening day at the North Park Launch. There were quite a few empty trailers at the launch and I saw at least one bigger fibreglass boat on the lake.
by PikeHunter1975 on May. 12, 2016
Caught 11 pike off rockwall, all pretty small but good fighters. Water is still to low to launch but irragation canal filling it was right full.

Was out fishing on Saturday, seen One truck on the ice down by the rock wall on the North end. Ice was about 8 inches. Still a little sketchy with all the warm weather, better to walk and get the feel of the ice.
by Dubcepticon on Feb. 20, 2016
Any ice reports near the dam? Any trucks still on the ice over the last few days?
by Monsterlander on Feb. 18, 2016
There is almost always open water under the bridge. The water flows through there. Just don't go close to it in your truck. I saw a guys truck go through there before. He must not have seen the open water and drove straight towards it. 👎

Trolled for about five hours on the 17th--- two of us caught eight smaller pike--- between two of us must have tried thirty different lures but no big jacks wanted them--- that's why it's called fishing instead of catching but still enjoyed the day with my old army buddy. It's not always about catching. Sonny

Fished August 27th
Everyone I took out caught 1 pike at least
Probably would have done better if I wasn't taking different people out for trips all day.
Haven't had a chance to fish the dam, heard it is a serious hotspot.
by Sonny on Aug. 15, 2014
Three of us trolled for about four hours and we all caught a bunch of fish mostly pike but a few walleyes. I got one walleye that was easily five pounds and lost something that snapped my 12 pound line like it was a piece of thread---- my fault for not having my drag set properly--- all told we caught and released forty fish of variable sizes--- weather was perfect until around 3 pm when an incoming storm forced us to pack it in but got to spend the day with two old army buddies all in all a perfect day

It's easy to report those that are taking illegal fish. The report a poacher number is on the back of your license. Give them a call they are happy to hear from good people. I did and go a easy 400.00 and they lost all there gear and a nice big fine.

theres too much commercial fishing here, it has ruined it for the people that are fishing here for fun. we used to get alot of action here but nowadays, it seems to have less and less action with all the commercial fishing going on!

Caught 1 pike 50cm in 2 hours. Lots of big fish taking bugs from surface when calm. What fish would rise in this lake? Is there trout in this lake or do pike do this. I am new to pike and walleye fishing
