Has anyone been out fishing lately? If so, how is the fishing?
by onting on Apr. 21, 2016
Water is low and fishing is slow. Half of the lake still is still frozen. Maybe in a week or two it will be iced out and the water should be up.

Was there Monday. No ice anywhere but water level was low. Can launch small boats and canoes. Lots of shallow areas so have to be careful with power boats but you can get around. Caught 1 nice size trout and enjoyed the scenery
by mitchyd on May. 5, 2015
My buddy called a tackle shop in Canmore and they said the ice is off but there's still ice around the boat launch so you can't really launch a boat yet. Another week or two it should be good!

by GordoJ on Mar. 18, 2015
once again I am very angry at posts that include violations of the regulations , 4 times last year I approached and attempted to educate people on the rules that they where not following , not even to mention the mishandling of "Bulls"the officers are working hard out there but they do not have enough manpower to protect and police .

Ice Report: 20 in100 yards straight out from the boat launch.
by NC on Feb. 8, 2015
Eco, hopefully your "fishing neighbor" wasn't using a green smelt. There is a bait ban on this lake, people need to educate themselves about the regs before they fish, this is a reasonable rule because you can't keep Bulls. I wish the warden was at these lakes more often
by Eco on Feb. 7, 2015
Fishing neighbor caught 8lb Bull with green jig head and small smelt about 30ft deep. was in 50ft of water.
by onting on Jan. 31, 2015

by mitchyd on Jan. 18, 2015
Did awesome here on Thursday. Landed 8 bulls. Missed a few others that felt a little smaller, probably cutty's. Biggest bull was almost 7lbs. Had two around that size
by onting on Jan. 14, 2015
No motor vehicle allowed on the lake bait ban. 0 limit on bull trout, 1 on any other trout +50cm.
by Jball111 on Jan. 11, 2015
Just wondering how the fishing is going? Are you able to drive out on to the lake? And what are some good lures to be using? Never fished lower before

The ice has all melted as of late last week. The water level is still very low. There there are fish at the hydro pool.
by DivineRepublic on May. 20, 2014
Still iced over. Appears to be melting in the centre of the lake. I give it another 2-3 weeks before the ice all melts.

Is there any open water on the lake ? Can I use a motor on this lake any feedback is appreciated.
by Matt00 on Mar. 13, 2014
Was out on Tuesday, was some water on top the ice a little slushy, there's about 6" of bad ice and about 16-18" of good ice. Landed one bully fair sized, was hoping for more. Seen a guy casting into the open water at interlakes with a bobber and letting the current take it out, watched him land a bully as well
by iFish Guest on Feb. 16, 2014
Any tips as far as lures go? I was going to go ice fishing tomorrow, by the boat launch. Thanks in advance.

No clue why Bull Trout aren't listed here. Down by the bottom of the drain from upper lake is great for Bulls. You can watch them from above schooling around the first drop.
Great little campsite there as well.

Wow! went up on the third weekend in May and caught a 6kg bull, followed by two 3kg bull trout. Had to release all of them by regulation, but I had a great time! Used a medium size woolly bugger on a sink tip fly line from the shore. The lake was VERY low at the time, maybe that helped. Find where a little creek dumps into the lake and chuck your fly in where the water blends. Medium speed retrieve and don't yank out your line too soon, all the abovementioned fish hit my fly within 4 meters of the shore. I had a GREAT time, all by myself except for the two moose and several bald eagles around 7 in the evening. Had to get a photo 'cause noone would believe me!
by reaper876 on Jun. 13, 2012
Water was VERY low last weekend, had to walk a few hundred meters to get to it and waded in another 50 or so just off of where the river runs in and feeds it. My buddy landed a 59cm Rainbow and myself a 61cm Bull cruising the runoff. Those were the only two bites and fish for the 4hrs.
by J on Jun. 12, 2012
I fished this lake in a canoe on may long weekend. Spent about 12 hours one the water and didn't even get a bite. What are people using to get rainbows here.
by BeeGuy on Jul. 31, 2011
The lower lake water level has increased dramatically in the last few weeks, covering all but the edge of the shoreline. Fishing is slower.
by Sam the fisher on Jun. 9, 2011
The lower lake is much better for fishing than the higher one the only fish I caught were very small. My suggestion is use a spinning lure
