Would this be a good place for a single pontoon with a small trolling motor ?

There isn't any ice. Nor is there any water. I went there on Friday. The water level was more than 150 feet back from the ramp. By the trout pond

Trolled by the dam for 3 hours. Lots of ledges, and only 1 bite. We were using 4 different crankbaits.

Anyone fishing in Glenifer lately? This open for the whole year I guess the ice is gone now. What is the good time for starting fishing from the shore? Any good spots. Thanks

no one ice fishes glennifer lake , because it is a resevoir , and as such , slowly drains out all winter long . You take the risk in the winter , of going on the ice , drilling a hole , and finding a 10' plus air gap between the ice and the water . this is rare , as the ice ussually settles with the water level , but there have been several years where the resevoir looks full in march , but when the ice opens up you discover it is empty . THIS IS NOT A LAKE FOR ICE FISHING!!!!!!. The trout pond on the other hand ....

Still no one here? Just the pond is in use. Way to many sled and quads racing around on the ice all by the boat dock, making it hard to even get on the ice. Didn't stay.

The regulations say its open all year. Yet I don't see anyone on the ice, there were lots of people here the past summer. Am I missing something?

New to the area. What is the reason why no one ice fishes here?

Wow it almost sounds like you know what your talking about, but you didn't fool me!! Take the dish finder on the water in a boat & the results are much different , they were for me last week.

Was shore fishing today for about 3-4 hours. Very slow only a couple small pike. Used a portable humming bird fish finder, even then only saw a few fish around. Must of had a huge fish kill from the oil spill not to see any fish. I hope they make plains midstream install a fish hatchery on the river. An oil containment boom is still stretched across the lake. If newbie retards with fancy boats and alge all over the sides of their boats going from lake to lake wasn't enough the oil should kill what's left. Even the die hard seagulls just pass bye now.

Pretty sure this lake is closed,I Think all summer to all recreation due to oilspill in Red Deer river. That's why Eastslope kayak tourney was at Phillis lake last weekend.

Fishing from shore or from a boat is impossible on a summer weekend or holiday. The boating retards rule. Where is the RCMP boat that was there last year?

by TheBoroumands8 on Jul. 9, 2011

Not a single thing cause the lake is too deep. Your better off fishing below or above the dam
