Anyone been out here lately??

by Cole010 on Mar. 30, 2018

RG Rd 110 is brutal haha no way even a truck can get thru and that's the only way for vehicle access. Looks like we are parking and walking

@Cole010 there was still ~ 34 inches on Sunday. I don't know about other acess spots but if you are going off rg rd 110 make sure you are driving something with ground clearance, the road is some serious mud ruts with logs and other crap to drive over as well

by Cole010 on Mar. 26, 2018

I think me and my brother will hit this lake up on the last 2 days. Anyone know the ice thickness or a good place to get on?

by BigSexyBurbs on Mar. 25, 2018

Thick mud ruts at rg rd 110 to get to the lake, you won't make it with a car. Bonus is only 5 or so trucks at chip city!

Slavelakeslayer, If you pick me up I can come with you and catch the fish for ya too lol. There are already hotspots for the lake and the directions I gave you have 3 hotspot markers already. I've only fished the lake a handful of times and have only fished that spot so I'm no expect but I've and always done well.

by Capper27 on Feb. 17, 2018

Drive in from rr110. Follow the trail east and you will see a little shack town out by the island. Good luck.

They taste good!

by Capper27 on Jan. 30, 2018

How do the fish taste out of this lake? Was really surprised at the Color of the water this time of year. Looks like tea. Can barely see your minnow 6ft down. We were also out Saturday. Lots of action, great day. All fish went back to the tea

Had an awesome day Saturday, ran out of bait so I had to quit! Caught over 50 fish in four and a half hours of fishing, including a big momma! Every single one went back in the water for others to enjoy catching them, fish on!

take the yellowhead to range road 110, head north until you hit the T then turn right and it takes you right on the lake. I was out with my daughter yesterday from 9-330 and had 4 bites and only landed a small pike. There was probably 50 people on the ice and only about 10 landed in total. Its definetly slowed from last year. Overfished or winterkill? The guy beside me did land a walleye though which was very strange. Good luck though!

by Ice man on Jan. 5, 2018

Can anyone recommend where is good access to get on the lake. I've never fished here before.

There is a boat launch in the park but it is very shallow. I was able to get my 24' pontoon in there. Have to find the open areas to troll once you find the areas its crazy pike fishing. Tonnes of fun.

Anyway, it looks like this lake is great for icefishing, but i am wondering if any of you fish it in "ice off" season? I'm looking for an easy fun place to take my kids and teach them some basics and catch and release._I have a 16.5' (120hp) motor boat...is this appropriate for Chip or complete overkill? Is there a place to launch it?_Thank you in advance for your advice. cheers
