I've never been to this lake before how should someone approach the areas with springs on the north and south sides? Besides not getting to close to them?
by redneckfishnalbertan on Jan. 15, 2019
Riverrat it's safe for half tons

by River_rat on Jan. 15, 2019
Just wondering if it's safe to take a 1/2 ton truck out on the ice? Looking at heading out this weekend.

First time to this lake, cold quiet morning. Landed 1 pike and couple other hits in 3hrs in approx 18fow. Lots of ice cracking but good 10-12 inches of black ice with another 3 inches of soft white ice on top...was just out front of the campground on northside of lake.

by Me1969 on Dec. 23, 2018
How is the access at the boat launch? Last week they were bringing in some heavy equipment to tear down the old building at the launch

7-8” across the lake. Not certain of river outflow.

The boat launch is closed, but you can still launch on the east side of it. Keep in mind the bottom is soft and you have to back in a ways if you have a larger boat. Its shores like this that makes me glad to have a small light aluminum boat lol. Oh btw you can easily lose a water shoe the that mucky soft bottom, I'm speaking from experience 8^)

Got 2 small pike in first hour by the weeds just west of boat launch. Moved to the west end of the lake to explore. No bites. 20 inch of ice, hard to drill with hand auger.

by White master on Jan. 13, 2018

by Ijustfish on Dec. 3, 2017
Go past the campground a little ways and there is another access. It looks like a driveway to a couple properties so of course be respectful and do t block access to the property.

by AJ_fisher on Dec. 3, 2017
Hey. How do you gain access to the lake for ice fishing? The campground appears to be gated and closed? Thanks
by Ijustfish on Nov. 26, 2017
I've never seen burbot here, excited to know they still exist here. Just a few pike today.
by Ddemarre on Nov. 26, 2017

Summary of lake reports....good fishing jacks but all small....some blue green alge....C&R walleye only....perch there but no reports on catching....boat launch but not the best....and it seems that there has been poaching activity. So this summarizes most lakes in alberta! Sigh!

Thought we give battle a try since we were skunked at Twin lakes yesterday. We didn't do too bad. Between my wife and I we caught and released close to 20 pike. 3 or 4 looked big enough to be keepers, But we didn't measure them because we try to release them as soon as possible. We also noticed the algae started to bloom forming Blue algae so be careful if you have pets along don't let them drink the water. or get any of it on yourself.

by I B Fishin on Aug. 30, 2017
Good name for the lake because it can be a battle to launch your boat lol. Other then that the pike seem to be biting we were out on Sunday and caught 7 between two of us and had lots of hits. Just troll close to the weeds and you'll find them we were just west of the boat launch. Saw some people fishing a little deeper and were into the walleye. Not sure if you can keep them. Btw we are catch and release so we didn't weight or measure any of them but I would guess all throw backs.

by Sheldonbrandon on Jan. 29, 2017
Been here twice now this month , not bad pike fishing but not much on my end other than that, came in at camp ground and played the drop off, landed 2 lost 4 on the tip up using full minnows in 8-14 feet of water in 2 hours from 8 am until 10 am . Lost one walleye and seen no perch or white fish . It's a nice active lake but it's busy too

Caught lots of walleye and pike here. Been to a lot of places this summer, and always come back to this one if we need some confidence in the fish dept. one after another.
