Went out a couple days ago around dusk. Fished for a couple hours. Caught a 2inch Prussian carp and took it out of the water. No trout though. The area is pretty nice just wish the fishing was better.

Pretty slow, can't even get a carp to bite. There is also NO CHUMMING allowed which means no you can't throw anything in water to attract fish near you. There is a guy with green and white striped umbrella. He was chumming and I told him that is not allowed. Probably playing 'No speakaenglish' He moved to a different spot on south end further away and threw alot more in water again. Hope fish & wildlife can nail him.

CAPS ARE TO BE USED FOR THE FIRST LETTER OF A SENTENCE, THAT IS WHAT WE DO IN CANADA. Danny W was just sharing his opinion and all he asked was why we don't like carp? Some people like carp and others don't. There are BIG carp in Saskatchewan like they have in England and they enjoy fishing them too!!

Not only do they ruin the ecosystem they also don't get really big. They're basically goldfish. Biggest I've seen was probably a little over a pound.

I tried but it won't work. It's from a lake called Blood Indian creek reservoir

Carp ruin the environment for other fish here in Canada Danny. The other fish numbers go wayyyy down. We don't not like carp here. I have a picture of another lake and it says if you catch carp " Catch then and Kill them ".

by Danny w on Sep. 5, 2016

Why do you guys hate carp? Im from england and we have huge carp fisharies where there are big club competitions. They grow huge and fight like hell and they dont even bother the outher types of fish. Australia also dont do carp either

I'm headed up there on Sunday I will be sure to try and get a few on a stringer. Only good Prussian carp is a dead one

Star Star Star Star Star

by Nviro on May. 9, 2016

Cornmeal works too. Most of them are tiny but the odd one is 6 or 7 inches. They'll choke the trout out eventually. There are a few other potholes in the area with them too.

by CaptSumTingWong on May. 8, 2016

If there are that many up there I'll drop by and catch and kill them. This wasn't a problem until recently.

Star Star Star Star Star

by ab trouter on May. 8, 2016

wow thats crazy!

Star Star Star Star Star

by AlbertakidFishing on May. 8, 2016

Ab Trouter these are around 1-4 inch carp! not suckers actual asian carp. they like flour under a bobber. find a tree branch in a water they hide under that! caught one on a small spinner too!

Star Star Star Star Star

by ab trouter on May. 8, 2016

nviro do you mean suckers or actual carp? It would be cool to catch some carp in Alberta.

Star Star Star Star Star

by AlbertakidFishing on May. 7, 2016

I can agree on both ways! Using bait here works also but not using bait caught me more fish. But there would be a sign up saying has to be more than 6 inches to keep if there was a rule. there isn't so the people that are saying stuff just stop theres no point your just whining. The people that are keeping more than 5 rainbow or brown trout is illegal. But there is also a lot of carp in here and i mean a lot and today i went fishing to Dewitts the people beside us caught 82 carp. The conservation officers tell us to kill every single one you catch. Yes it is hard for all the asians or different culture fisherman that come to fish and do not read the regulations properly us canadians should go and just give them a little rundown and if it keeps happening call fish and wildlife. But these ponds are stocked for people to keep fish, i always do catch and release but stop hating on the people that keep 5 fish because there allowed

Star Star Star Star Star

Star Star Star Star Star

by Dedo on May. 6, 2016

There not called fish and feathers!! They are call fish and wildlife. Think what your typing befor you do it

Star Star Star Star Star

by Nviro on May. 3, 2016

They might be keeping carp, there's tones of them in here and every one that gets taken out and killed is a good thing.

Star Star Star Star Star

by CGS420 on May. 3, 2016

I don't ever fish with bait here, always catch lots! Always release them, because what is the point in keeping a 6 inch fish? I see guys set up here with their buckets, and pull tiny little fish in all day and keep way more than 5!! It's brutal, grown men keeping little fish like that, these little ponds are fun, but when all the fish disappear so early cause they can't let them grow is sad. And no fun. Maybe the grown men who want to " actually" fish should learn to speak English and read the max. 5 fish rule, maybe go somewhere where it's actually challenging to fish. Don't think I'm going to be comin back here and I'm definitely calling fish n feathers to come and hopefully take care of these losers who keep more than the limit because it happens all the time here

Star Star Star Star Star

by MrFishMaster on May. 2, 2016

Where does it say that stocked fish at these ponds say they are 'catch and release' ? Are you making up rules? And are you fly fishing? Most people fish with bait and many die anyways because of these. Alberta fishery said you can take home 5, any size. They mean it. Otherwise they would put in a lower limit, size restriction, or state it is catch and release. Learn to read please.

Star Star Star Star Star

by CGS420 on May. 1, 2016

I definitely agree! Same thing happens at chain lakes, every time I'm there,

Star Star Star Star Star

by JennaB on Apr. 28, 2016

Just people in general that I see out fishing all the time. Not just here, everywhere. Sibbald too.

by CaptSumTingWong on Apr. 28, 2016

Who? I agree, pond us fished out fast.

by JennaB on Apr. 28, 2016

Do you really have to sit here with your buckets? You catch the max fish you're allowed to keep and then go home. No wonder everything's fished out by July. It's called catch and release. How much are you really going to eat off this tiny 6 inch fish I saw you catch and put in your bucket.

ice fishing here??

Star Star Star Star Star

by Jesseboy89 on Jul. 8, 2015

I live near here. There are always a ton of vehicles sitting in front of this little pond during all hours of the day. Very high pressure, with very small fish. Avid outdoors/fishermen will not enjoy this location. (Unfortunately there are some slobs giving the community a poor image here, garbage and ditched lines can be an issue.) That being said....even if they aren't always biting, the fish are jumping at all times of the day and the pond is small enough you can always see the liveliness of the place. Tons of bird activity and very nice views. Excellent family outing spot.

Catch limit of five trout. Number six and beyond are being poached.

Star Star Star Star Star

by Jakinator on Sep. 22, 2014

LG2000, I haven't read anything of imagination on here yet. I've been to this pond many times, and it's a common sight to see a select group keeping large amounts of fish, far too small to be eaten customarily. Guess where the line needs to be drawn is what would be considered poaching. Anyone over the age of 12, using cheese and shrimp as bait to fill ones freezer, well to me, that's poaching indeed!

Star Star Star Star Star

by LG2000 on Sep. 14, 2014

Pls be responsible for your posting and reflect factuality not imagination. I go there very often for excercise and fishing there as well. In May I did see an old guy using more than one rod once but no recurring. Other folks carry extra rod as spare not using more than 1 line at same time.

by jmbab on Sep. 6, 2014

Red, did you report them?

Star Star Star Star Star

by Froggy on Aug. 31, 2014

Word is someone released Prussian carp and it's open season on them. Might check it out tomorrow.

Star Star Star Star Star

by Reddaway on Aug. 31, 2014

I'm from airdrie I go here for short trips. The amount of plain flat out poaching and the amount of garbage people toss in the grass and in the water is disgraceful. I have seen on numerous ovations people filling pales of fish and trading a full pale for an empty one in the truck of there cars. Along with people using 2 3 bait lines and we wunderkind why it's a crap hole. Thanks for helping out fish cops

by Jayjayjay on Jul. 16, 2014

Is there any sence in going to this pond now? Anybody catching anything?

by jmbab on Jul. 14, 2014

Oh well it was good while it lasted. One side of the pond smelled horrible, I would not eat anything out of there

Star Star Star Star Star

by Rhom on Jul. 14, 2014

Went there yesterday talk to four groups of people who was there early and told us like there is nothing left to fish anymore

Star Star Star Star Star

by Jakinator on Jul. 7, 2014

No one should be keeping any fish outta here right now. The fish are 6 or 7" at best. Gotta love Alberta fishing.

Star Star Star Star Star

by iTroutfish on Jul. 6, 2014

This lake is a joke!! Way too may people keeping way too many tiny fish. It's kind of sad to see but some people just don't get it.

by jmbab on Jun. 22, 2014

Good, hopefully they will get a big fine and confiscated equipment

Star Star Star Star Star

by Tiller150 on Jun. 22, 2014

The warden's gotta make some visits out here. Lots of people keeping over their limit and fishing two lines. This place is for recreational fishing. If this keeps up it will be fished out by August.

Star Star Star Star Star

by AA on Jun. 21, 2014

You can use cheese, power bait, minnows ,shrimp, corn, and jigs and artificial stuff I usually like the velvetta cheese it works best

Star Star Star Star Star

by fisherman.rarog on Jun. 9, 2014

Star Star Star Star Star

Star Star Star Star Star

by Malikai76 on May. 25, 2014

I've been out a total of about 6 hours in the last week and I've only gotten one bite but the lil jerk jumped straight in the air and spat it right back out at me. Other than that, a lot of people saying they're catching stuff, but at no point have I seen anyone pull anything in, and there's always people there when I go, even as early as 6 in the morning.

Star Star Star Star Star

by Jakinator on May. 20, 2014

There are lots of 9"ers as it was just stocked., Very high pressure on this pond. Very busy along the banks and lots of cheese being used for bait. Hopefully people will start practicing catch and release until they are big enough to keep!

Star Star Star Star Star

They didn't have a full winter kill. I caught an 18" rainbow a week and a half ago. they just stocked the pond with 20 cm long rainbow. I haven't had much luck with them but lots of people I have seen have. Some of the older guys are still catching the bigger ones from last year.

Star Star Star Star Star
