Spent the weekend at the campground (Fish lake campground). During the day it was cool, but we still only saw a few fish jumping.
Then in the evening things exploded and fish were jumping everywhere. Quite a site to see... however, they were all tiny (6 inches?) and none of them seemed to be biting.
I've done very little trout fishing so I wasn't expecting to be lucky, but asking the rest of the people fishing (about 20 or so at least around the lake) no one was having a lot of luck. (You can see when someone catches something, in a couple hours I saw maybe 3 fish caught)
One teenaged kid said he caught his limit the night before jigging a worm off the dock. But I didn't see him have any luck either so perhaps he was just telling fish tales.
I'm wondering if the lake gets fished out too quickly. They stocked in in June, and so the reports of 30 fish in a weekend could be true for June 15th. But it's July 25th now and it seemed to be hard to catch anything.
However, we had a lot of fun, there's a nice dock (although crowded) and the lake is pristine.

Went out on boat for 6 hours. Seen lots of fish jumping, caught 2 tiny fish. Had a lot of bites from little ones that were too small to eat the worms.

Fished all weekend with over 30 fish caught between 7-14 inches. Had the pleasure of watching them stock the lake with 20 000 fish. Small flatfish or red devil spoon was the best

Fishing was slow. Caught 4 small fish. I don't think there is any decent fish in this lake. Only small fish I have every seen caught.

Fished it for three days. Had lots of bites but nothing keeping. Good for the kiddies, not for people looking for anything keeping. Don't waste your time if you don't have kids.

Caught fish every time I've gone. There is one monster rainbow (as big as a Salmon) that I saw prowling once, but he's too smart to get caught.
by Cfast on Aug. 19, 2011
Though I have had good luck here in the past the fishing here is currently sub par. While we where there for four days we had one bite. Out of all the people we had talked to the person with the best luck had caught three fish in four days.

Just returned from 3 days of fishing/camping. The fish were hitting small brass spoons. Caught lots of 10-12 inchers and saw a few big ones cruising the shoreline. Weather was hit and miss. Love this lake!
by Brik5 on Jul. 10, 2011
Catching a few from shore, not huge though. Watched a few larger ones swim by.
by Sam the fisher on Jun. 9, 2011
This lake is great in early June as they stock the lake and you can catch lots of small rainbows but if you want larger fish cast about 10 yards of shore
by Rainbow warrior on Jun. 6, 2011
Caught nice little rainbows there every time I've gone. Have seen some big ones in the water.
