Still bitting pretty good yes. And no issues driving all over the lake. With trucks.
by Tom2017 on Mar. 17, 2017
How about the ice condition, still a lot of truck run on the lake.
Does recent warmer weather thins the ice layer?
Have you folks caught anything recently?
Plan to head out to fishing this weekend.

by sbisson1 on Mar. 10, 2017

by Linesman on Feb. 14, 2017
A whole case of empty beer cans scattered on the ice. A couple of dead burbot laying on the ice. Not many biting to top it off. Sad.
by Wozz19 on Feb. 14, 2017
by MozKnowz on Feb. 12, 2017
Fishing at 40', smelts and a fair sized jig or spoon, bigger, and stinky the better, bounce it off the bottom ans they'll go nuts
2 burbot in 1 hr, descent size, keepers for sure, under 15 people on lake, beautiful day
Ice Report: 24 inIce is solid and easy drilling
by Fishslayer2 on Feb. 12, 2017
Yes they are bitting. Seems nobody wants to admit it. Jigs tipped with minnows bouncing it off the bottom in 15 feet of water.
by Islandlakefisher on Feb. 11, 2017
Any luck out there?? I'm heading out tomorrow. What's the best bait? Has anyone been out here lately? Thanks for any info

Look at the stocking in the 80's.
They even tried stocking lake trout in this lake!!
Tried many times and Caught some large pike in the summer above 10 lbs. No luck in the winter except for Burbot.
Very high saline content in this lake which makes it hard for the fish to survive.
by 99suburban on Mar. 14, 2016
Ice is 16-20". Access is solid. Fish were on the bite. Jigging with chartreuse and a minnow 6" off bottom was a hit. 2 of us limited out. Females haven't spawned yet.

by Schnidy on Jan. 31, 2015
What part of the lake were you fishing on? I'm wondering if anyone has explored the lake at all, or just fished by the boat launch? I myself have only tried one other spot the farthest east bay! Ton of weeds crazy drop off but no fish!
by Pikeman101 on Jan. 31, 2015
Was out for 5 hours and caught one burbot. There was one another guy out there who also had one burbot. Soon they should start to move into shallower water.
by Reed45 on Jan. 16, 2015
Where are the burbots and what are you guys using for bait? Thanks

by YeeHaw on Feb. 26, 2014
Sorry Schnidy I only spot I know of or fished is in front of the launch in 24-35 fow. Thanks for posting the report from the test nets, sad to see the pike and walleye are almost non existent. But thankfully the burbot fishing is good.
by Schnidy on Feb. 24, 2014
Here is an interesting study on this lake if you want to know why there is no fish here in the summer time! http://esrd.alberta.ca/fish-wildlife/fisheries-management/fall-walleye-index-netting/index-net-survey-reports/documents/LacSante-FallWalleyeIndexNetting-2011.pdf
by Schnidy on Feb. 22, 2014

by YeeHaw on Feb. 22, 2014

by Schnidy on Feb. 10, 2014
I didn't make it out here this weekend, the plan was to hit up garner first thing in the morning for perch. Then stop here on the way back for a burb or two but the perch fishing didn't go so well lol.

Spent 8 yrs on this lake and never seen a perch. Would love for the kids to caught something during the summer, as they are doubting the fun of fishing here...
by Coot on Jan. 31, 2014

by iFish Guest on Jan. 18, 2014
I see there is not a single comment about summer, is this lake any good in the summer? I heard it goes to 75 feet, so there should be some big ones in there.....what is anyone catching in there?
by Chevybass on Dec. 20, 2013
Ice Report: 12 inTwo hills boat launch 12 but when you drive to the west it goes to 4inches on ice :S
by Schnidy on Dec. 16, 2013
The lake gets to about 90 feet in the deepest part! Maybe a little less cause its been so dry out there the last five years or so! Best bet this time of year is to use a glow in the dark spoon just after the sun goes down! But try over rocks the boat launch is there spawning ground and they don't spawn till feb.
by FroDaddy337 on Dec. 16, 2013
Hey Schnidy, how deep does the lake get? Went out Saturday nigh(brrrrr) about 100 ft off the boat launch. 6" of ice and we were about 35 or 40 ft deep. No bites but at least we tried. First time there. I'm just north of Lafond and new to the area.
You won't see anything by the boat launch till feb! You have to hit the deeper water if you want to find them this early in the season!
by Iktaine on Dec. 14, 2013
Went in front of the boat launch down rr113 didn't see a dam thing where are all the ling?4 inches of ice though
by Marble_eye on Mar. 26, 2013
Anybody been out in the last few days? Are the roads plowed after the storm and catfish still biting?
by Schnidy on Feb. 11, 2013

by Schnidy on Jan. 25, 2013
Went out today caught only a couple! One big one tho! 10lb snake. I drove accross from boat launch just before narrows. Looks like I was the only guy to drive accross all year! Zero tracks out there! Get out there and make some tracks for me lol!!
by Schnidy on Jan. 24, 2013
Hey Kevin when you went out did you drive on? How thick was the ice?
by Kevin on Dec. 29, 2012
Brutally slow. Went out for 8 hrs a week ago, saw a couple pike, couple whites, couple pickerel, nothing on. Today was out for 2-3 hrs, saw zero. Going elsewhere until the bite is happening closer to March...
by Schnidy on Nov. 22, 2012
Sorry I got no info around that area, it's been so dry out there the past few years the fishing really slowed right down! But I'm sure someone on here could put you on fish out there.
by GeeGee on Nov. 21, 2012
Thanks Schnidy, i won't waste my time then. can u suggest somewhere close to mannville. anything but trout
by Schnidy on Nov. 19, 2012
Wouldn't bother going till second week of march. You won't even see a fish there at this time of year!
by GeeGee on Nov. 19, 2012
has anyone been fishing on Lac Sante yet? Thinking of going out this weekend for ice fishing-burbot or pike. Where's the best spot
by GT on May. 22, 2012
Thanks for the info, I didn't think I was that bad of a fisherman!
by Schnidy on May. 21, 2012
The pike and walleye can't reproduce in that lake. It has something to do with the alkaline levels. So there is not very many left, I have caught 3 pike and 3 walleye in 15 years of trying! The only fishing that can reproduce there are the burbot.
by GT on May. 21, 2012
Has anyone had success catching Pike on Lac Sante? Where, When, How?
