Fished my regular spot and caught three fish in 15 minutes. If you are using powerbait stop. Berkeley small floating worms 5' off the bottom is the best fall bait.

by Dugi3 on Aug. 15, 2016
disregard last comment. wrong lake.
Fished for 6 hours on the weekend. Caught one small Pike (trolling from boat on south east side). way too many weeds. Lake was covered in surface weeds. Lure would be in the water for just seconds and you would have weeds on.

Just a question?? thinking bout fishing there in the next week or so.. do they allow powered boats on the lake or just canoe's.. I have a small 14' boat! thanks for any input!!

Went out last night after the storm for three hours. Between the two of us we caught 1 fish. And only about 6 bites where we couldn't hook them. One was jigging and the other using various lures. Any help to catch these trout would be greatly appreciated. We were fishing from a Jon boat, shallow, deep all over.

Out for a about 3.5 hours, belly boating... The green growth makes access a bit messy but it worked. 30 fish to the boat, ranging 10-13". Great morning on the water.
by SnapBack02 on Jun. 9, 2015
Fished here Sunday had great action!, fished for 5 hours pulled in 8 fish but steady bites all day. Few at 12 inches rest at 8-10. All were released back
by Craig W. on Jun. 5, 2015
Went to Chickakoo Lake for my first time at sunset last night.
Tons jumping, and caught 2 small 10" rainbows within a span of half an hour.
Was casting a medium-sized 'red devil' spoon off the end of a dock.
Beautiful park for hiking and bbq-ing too, by the way!
by Hoyt2002 on May. 28, 2015
Hay coyote here! Went fishing last weekend caught a few.
There is a lot of green growth in this pond for this time of the year?
by Davidson1978 on May. 26, 2015
Bright yellow or green spinners with a worm did the trick today. Lots of bites and caught a decent sized rainbow.
by JonBlair on May. 18, 2015
Had a fun day yesterday. Ended up catching 5 or so in about 2 hours. No bait, used a small spoon. Seemed to work great. Guy beside me caught 7 in a row beginning at the first cast he made! Small trout, threw'em back to grow. Hopefully everyone else is doing the same! Just because the limit is 5, doesn't mean you actually need 5.
by Bluenoser1971 on May. 17, 2015
Lots of fish to catch but none to make a meal out of. Multiple baits didn't work, but a shiny silver lure did the trick.

by SnapBack02 on Dec. 24, 2014
Great little fishery, was out on Monday for 2 hours, used my own custom jig tipped with pink powerbait. Landed 2, 16" and 5, 8-10". I found them at the six foot mark in 10' of water. A slow up and down jig worked raising my jig up around a foot and slowly let it drop keeping a tight line and they would nail it as it fell. Small pauses also produced bites but very light and hard to hook up. Bait stealers I call them lol
by obsessed on Dec. 21, 2014
went out thismorning 10--12" ice only 1 landed and 5 other bites used shrimp seen more on camera but not coming to hook
by rusbo09 on Dec. 15, 2014

Went this wet morning and had 4 on and landed one. Fished from the beaver lodge. Fish bit on a phrasenr tail, damsel fly nymph and a red bodied black bead chrionomid, although nine of them seemed to get more than one or two bites each. On a side note saw a dear, a family of ducks sitting on a log, a blue heron, muskrat, some loons and a snake. Also helped myself to some raspberries on the way out. Lovely little lake when it is not busy.

by iFish Guest on Aug. 26, 2013
PROTIP: lake winter kills every year past around january it seems so no real monsters. Rainbows love leaches, brook trout love nymphs for the fly fishers. For the spinning set, spinners for rainbows and probably a float with something like maggots would probably be good for the brooks.
by Spruce on Jul. 15, 2013
Had a great time there last Saturday. Hooked into 10 bows. Fishing was great between 8 -10 am. Purple leech was the fly to use.

by Newschool74 on Jul. 3, 2013
Great evening last night. Caught 8 fish in about 2 hrs. Would've stayed longer had the storm of the century not scared me away. Very hot so fished the deep parts with sinking line in my belly boat.
by Cajed1 on Jun. 18, 2013
Lots of people catch from shore there. From your recent one star ratings of some pretty decent lakes I'd say you need to work on technique and quit blaming the lakes.

We went today early morning and fished for 3 hrs with not even a bite. We did see 2 dead fish laying down at the bottom! I'm wondering if that lake will be dead for the rest of the hardwater season

I found the ice was soft the first 6in. But nice and sold after that.
I didn't catch anything but I went late evening.
I used meal worm, earth worms, and minows.
