There are Prussian Carp in the water here! Massive one, Saw one with my own eyes last week. Very sad to see. I can't believe there are carp in this stocked trout lake.. very annoyed... If you catch it, kill it! They are going to destroy a good trout lake. I have reported this to necessary parties.

If East Pit was stocked with 11 thousand fish on May 15, 2020. And it has been about 4 months since then...And if 20 people were there every day taking ONLY their limit. East Pit would need to be stalked with 12000 fish. MAYBE, given a high fish mortality rate of 18% C&R...and that there are SOME leaving with bags full of fish instead of just 5...plus we are feeding some of the local wild life....it is no wonder people go there in July and do not see a single fish. Any suggestions that would help East Pit season last a little longer???

Lake is extremely high, waters levels are way up and this the fish are not biting. Went for a few hours today and not even a nibble. Normally always a guarantee

Go here regularly. Pretty good place. Kinda annoyed though, went out ice fishing and I find what I’m told is Asian carp frozen in the ice next to a hole someone had made. Hopefully it’s not as it appears

Caught my PB here yesterday, a 6-7 pound pig! Fished in my belly from 1-7, caught 15 or so, 3 nice ones over 16", majority of my bites were on a red and cooper little cleo spoon, including that hog! Great day fishing on the water

by TroutSpecialistx24 on Aug. 18, 2019
Nothing but tiny fingerlings stocked from this year, better to let them grow a bit before coming back I'd say

Newfie69. How are you getting over there?

by Newfie69 on Jun. 12, 2019
If you have the means I found fishing the far end gives better results.

I have been out the last few weekends evening and morning. Tried spoons, spinners, mepps, and dough. Got a couple nibbles only. Talked to the other guys out there and they had nothing as well. Usually i have pretty good luck at this lake.

@bluenoser1971 what was the weather like the day you went? And did it seem totally dead? I'm thinking of going Saturday morning but I've never been and I dont wanna waste my morning

by Bluenoser1971 on May. 20, 2019
Spent 3 hours this morning, alternating between lures and power bait. Not a bite.

by Mariocerna on May. 13, 2019
We went last Saturday 18, we didn't catch anything using spinners, spoons, and little rapalas. We saw some guys using bait dough and they did not catch anything as well. We spent 3 hours and left earlier at 6, and I heard that the bites start after 7,next time we'll be arriving later.

Any ice report? How's ice-fishing in this lake?

by TheFishinBroz on Jul. 30, 2018
Great Trout spot, been there 5 times in June/July. Caught about 6) 8-10" rainbow with a handful of bits. Was using a 8g Spinner (wal-mart). Lots of shore spots to choose from. Only down fall, some walking and on the way out have to climb a pretty steep hill. In my opinion worth it. Shout out to The Fishing Doctors Adventures https://youtu.be/ZwK8i3myClY without him wouldn't have found this gem -TheFishinBroz -K

by Caper546 on Jun. 15, 2018
Watch where you walk. I saw a guy taking a dump by the walking trail on the south side of the lake.

https://mywildalberta.ca/fishing/fish-stocking/documents/AlbertaFishStockingReport-May18-2018.pdf 6380 stocked 14 May 18 Stopped by Sunday for a quick scout. Looked like Walmart parking lot.

by Conservation Fishing for Life&Children on May. 22, 2018
Stock report says no fish stocked for 2018. I agree with BigFish, if you bring it down the hill take it with you back up the hill. I have a feeling that people on this site are not the ones leaving the mess. Leduc was stocked with 2400 this year.

by BigFish26 on May. 12, 2018
Got two lost two very windy today i don't know how people can go to a lake and leave there garbage just laying there when they go lazy people or they just don't care maybe they shouldn't go to the lake at all

To: by Conservation Fishing for Life&Children on Sep. 21, 2020 I have fished in lakes all over our beautiful province and see people not following the rules AKA poaching. There are not enough resources to properly police our lakes. I've only ever been asked twice by for my license in over 1000 fishing trips. All we can do is follow the rules and try to educate the ignorant.
