by "FishOn" on Jan. 2, 2017
2 guys 5 keepers for a total of 4 Lb's. Biggest rainbow was 2Lb. Hits pretty much most of the morning. Small jig with " trout marshmallow bait" pink, or grey seems to work. Very cold outside 24" of ice, tent and heater a must.

Went out with a couple buddies, caught two 7 1/2 pikes! Very shocked to find them that big in there. Didn't catch anything else in about 3 hours
by LRD V8R on Jun. 16, 2016
danwood If they're rising try a small mosquito pattern or foam beetle. If not, go with a 52 Buick, Wooley or San Juan Worm

Cause I've tried everything Taft worked last year for pike and I got nothin at all
by Riverbear on May. 13, 2016
There is pike. Leave them in. Or else. They were not dumped in by anyone. This pond along with the water on the other side of the highway are loosely still connected with sandy/nakumun chain. There is also a few species of suckers in this body. It was all part of a much larger/older system.
by Family on May. 12, 2016
I understand that it's just they are much more fun to fight, and I never kept a pile from this pond and I know they themselves don't stalk the pond with pike
by NorthernYaker on May. 12, 2016
Of course the don't stock pike in a trout pond, those idiots are part of the "bucket brigade" illegally introducing fish, which is why you can't keep them.
There are indeed Browns but no more pike?!?
by Riverbear on May. 10, 2016
Stocked! Browns and bows. Action on #Len

by Riverbear on Aug. 2, 2015
It is unlawful to take any game game fish from stocked trout ponds unless specified on regulations. Other than that. They do battle well! Tight lines.
by Dak1138 on Aug. 2, 2015
Fished here for the first time ever this morning . Didn't catch anything and no trout rising. The other angler there said he caught a "Jack" around two pounds. I asked if he threw it back in the water or on the shore and he told me back in the water . He thought he would get in trouble for leaving it on shore and he was suppose to throw it back in or take it home. I knew you are not suppose to waste the fish but I might assume the local fish and wildlife people wouldn't mind. I tried to tell him I didn't think you could keep it but he seemed to think anything he pulls out of there is fair game. Looks like it could be a nice spot to fish, too bad for the pike.

Rumour has it this pond has pike and perch, anyone catch any I've never fished here before
by Craig W. on Jun. 5, 2015
I've fished this pond several times over the past year (including during the lunch-hour and at sunset). I've never NOT caught anything here! In roughly a dozen visits here, I've caught one 11" rainbow trout (on a good ol' worm and a bobber from the dock), and about a dozen 12-16" Northern Pike using a combinations of spoons and spinner-baits.
by Grumpy Gus on May. 20, 2015
Fished for about an hour this afternoon- caught 1 small one near the boat launch on a leech pattern- lots of bites though.

Huge thank you to the Morinville fish and game club for putting on an amazing breakfast/event. See you all at the kids derby in February!! Btw one trout also caught by the aerator. Flashing spoons.
by Grumpy Gus on Dec. 4, 2014
Was here for a few hours a couple days ago on the west end of the lake - not even a nibble.
by Coldone on Sep. 12, 2014
I'm a glass half full kinda guy but.. beaches were dirty.. dog waste.. cans. Wish people would clean up after themselves.. oh well cleaned some garbage. Didn't catch anything.
by Atkinss on Jul. 17, 2014
That trout tasted ' dirty ' as some would call it, cooked it up with some butter and lemon juice.
by Atkinss on Jul. 15, 2014
Caught 1 rainbow in 2 hours, she came home with me.
by Atkinss on Jul. 13, 2014
Any tips for bait?
by DionRoy on Jun. 2, 2014
Caught 2 small pike off the small dock near the parking lot - C&R. Trout were jumping everywhere. Well kept and easily accessible lake - although its fairly small.
How big do the fish get here given its size?
by Brigs on Jun. 1, 2014
The pond on the east side of hwy 2 was re-stocked with 1600 trout last week. They were more content with jumping than biting, couple more weeks and it should be good fishing
by Fishing1012 on May. 28, 2014
The east side is the one with the pike
by Cajed1 on May. 28, 2014
Ae the pike in the pond east or west of hiway??
West by overpass is actually Heritage lake, and the one on east side of hiway by ball diamonds is the fish and game pond. Which has the pike??
by Riverbear on May. 27, 2014
Dear fish and wildlife
by Fishing1012 on May. 27, 2014
I think they are all I saw were trout and some baby pike
by kingslayer on May. 27, 2014
I thought all the perch were gone from this pond? Fished theree a few yrs ago and there was nothing. Fished a yr earlier and perch and trout were plentiful
by Fishing1012 on May. 26, 2014
I was confusing lakes I don't think there is any perch there but the pikes are almost done and the Alberta fish and game are considering poisoning the lake due to the baby pike's in that pond as told by some locals down by the pond so thanks for who ever dumped the pike !
by Fishing1012 on May. 24, 2014
Yes I do
by Cajed1 on May. 23, 2014
You realize you can't keep the perch right??
by Fishing1012 on May. 23, 2014
Ok so are the pike just Gona stay there and grow bigger and destroy the trout and perch left there ???
by Atkinss on May. 22, 2014
This pond has turned around since 2 years ago. My friend and I caught 13 trout together in 2 hours using spinners. Unfortunately I also caught 2 pike
by Riverbear on May. 16, 2014
"The harvest of game fish species other than trout from stocked trout waters is NOT permitted. (Alberta fish and wildlife)
by Fishing1012 on May. 16, 2014
If it's a trout perch lake and it has no regulation on pike then I figure you can keep it and protect this lake . Please provide where you get your info . Thanks
by Riverbear on May. 15, 2014
Even if there is a pike in there I don't think you can keep it. That's what the regs say. Nevertheless, it will be the stuff of legend now. The hunt is on.
by Fishing1012 on May. 11, 2014
If I catch any pike there I will not out it back
by Wingnutt37 on May. 11, 2014
Yup my thoughts also! Even though the pike was only 12" it's going to grow fast once the stock it with baby trout!
A pike , that's crazy man , what's wronge with people , you want pike go to the hundreds of lakes out there some 20 minutes from morn vile. Verry sad news , hope not a lot of damage was caused
Regs say this is a trout pond but I caught a pike in it back in early May, what's with that?

Anyone been out to morinville resouvoir lately? Hows the fishing, both perch and trout?
by Jimmie on Sep. 20, 2012
2 bites all day
by Curt j on Jul. 25, 2012
Wrong body of water, unless you were on east side of hwy#2, in which case your not allowed any type of boat. If you were on the west side of hwy#2 then you were actually fishing Heritage lake and should post in the right location.
by Scott on Jul. 24, 2012
Spent all afternoon fishing from a boat. Fish finder showed 35' depths but only had one bite. There is so many weeds in the middle of the lake.
