Had a pike leap out of the water at my bubble float. He was10 ft from shore near the culvert/washroom side. Snag loved him and he took 5 ft of 6lb nanofil line before it snapped. Should have thought harder and casted a top water frog instead of my trout rig! Still exciting to see a small pike completely out of the water.

Looks like the 17 lbs Pike feasted well on the rainbows. I have been to several trout ponds and they are all stocked with tiny trout. Previous years were stocked with variety of sizes. I wonder if govt. is trimming the budget this year on stocking.
