Was out again March 3 from 4 til 10pm. Saw Walleye and Pike on camera before sundown. No burbot though. Fished all around islands and near southeast outlet. Nothing!!! Are the burbs gone??? Do they spawn in January? Might try up at north end one time and then I'm giving up.
by mapman_yyc on Mar. 4, 2017
Was out Thursday night over night after burbot. Fished north of campground, various spots by east islands and by campground. No bites all night. Didn't matter, beautiful -6 night with barbequed deer meat, no wind, ice booming, coyotes howling and northern lights.

Updates help. There's still a bunch of wrong regs at places afterwards though.
by iFish Guest on Jan. 27, 2017
Mine is correct, you need to make sure you hit the check for updates on the more page
No walleye or pike can be kept. This app is TERRIBLE for regs. They'll have the same errors posted for years. Use albertaregulations.ca
by Piketaker89 on Jan. 27, 2017
So in the regs on here it states that you can keep pike but everyone is saying no keeping allowed ? Someone want to explain please..

My last post did not show all my comment. It is 2pm on crawling. Ice in 12-14" deep 300-500m north of boat launch on west side. Ice is soft over here. Ice seemed harder by boat launch. It is windy right now and melting surface a bit. Would not recommend driving on the soft ice especially with a large vehicle. Caught 2 sm pike this morning and had a perch hit. Ice was definitely starting to rot. Parked my truck and we walked on
by MikF on Mar. 10, 2015
That's exactly where we were, SE by the islands, two weekends ago we pulled out 4 burbot and had another half dozen bites all on salted minnows, 2 of the 4 burbot were 29" long, and last weekend we pulled out 2 burbot and lost 2 more at the hole. How was the ice looking? Obviously not good to drive on but is it at least walking safe?
by PlayDoh on Mar. 10, 2015

by Badger87 on Jan. 22, 2015

Start at the 25 ft of water. Use a purple jig tipped with a shrimp or anchovies jig steady . If no bites in 30 minutes. Move closer. Repeat until you are at 6 ft of water. Then head back to 20 feet and try another run
by slew on Jan. 19, 2015
30 ft is a bit deep. They should be around 15' they will cruise the shallows for feeding. Usually late afternoon and evening. Usually fairly easy to catch at cvr
by PlayDoh on Jan. 18, 2015
It's my 1st year on hard water, and been reading that in mid winter the eyes move to mid-lake structure around 30' deep. Everyone else I see are still fishing closer to shore and no deeper then 20' at most.
Can anyone tell me a depth for eyes before 4pm? I haven't found any yet until they come to 10' to 15' to feed just before sunset.
Kinda slow again but a bit better than a couple days ago. I'm wondering if the eyes have gone deeper now?

On a side note, Maybe I don't know the etiquette, but I have had the same group drive between my ice fishing holes two weekends in a row. Is this a common practice? These are holes are clearly marked and have tip ups inside.

This is a good fishery, lots of burbott, walleye, and pike. Sizes aren't that great for pike. I ended up pulling in a 10 lb 31 inch pike, the man setting up the curvy for next weekend mentioned it would have won the durby for length. But we caught the first batch on the southeast side, and moved up to the northwest side and caught some great size walleye. Great lake for walleye and burbott, if u want big pike this might be a waste of time. Good luck

C/Valley: Was out yesterday Jan 3/13 just off the boat launch late in the afternoon until about 7 pm. Drove on with 3/4 ton ford, no problem except the snow was getting a bit deep. 12 inches of ice and 12 feet of water then moved in to 9 feet - no fishes tonight. The guy that just left was out another 20 yards from me and got into some top water so caution on getting stuck.

Was there on sunday august 28 am for two hours. First 10 minutes pulled a 20 inch walleye. Last ten minutes pulled a 22 inch pike. Always had luck there. There are some places that seem hotter then not. Try close to the under water rock piles. Good luck!!
by Mattuecci on Aug. 6, 2011
Fished for 4 hours with a pickerel rig in the NW area of the lake, not a bite. Guys in the boats didn't seem to be catching anything. Only luck I seen anyone having was a guy spooning a belly-boat just outside of the weeds.

Caught a few pike an a couple walleye. Shallow Rock bars are not nice to have to worry about all the time.
by Capt. Hook on Jun. 8, 2011
Went it today and got 3 nice
walleye and a small jack; all directly across from campground boat launch in about 15 feet of water.
Overall pretty slow though.
Lots of pike will follow a spoon to the boat, but then back off.
