Was camping at Country' of Bonneville site at Pelican Point. Arrived Thursday evening 22nd of July. Left 25 July at 500. Fishing was excellent. wind however was nasty. Was difficult to keep the boat in place with an anchor due to the high winds. There were white caps on the main lake but the cove at Pelican Beach was protected by the cove. The fishing was good Friday am but slacked off by noon. Again after supper the bites picked up. Sat almost too windy to fish except from shore where you were able to take advantage of the wind as cast way far out from the shoreline. Catches ranged from a couple pounds to almost 10 lbs. Both from shore and in the boat slowly trolling and casting. Roughly speed 1 on the electric motor. Sunday am it was great, was almost every cast there was a bite the fellow I came camping with and his son went out and caught 5 between the 2 of them before breakfast. I went out and caught 7 with in a 2 hour time waiting for the breakfast bell...lol Best lures were the standard red devil 00 and single0. Next was a fluorescent yellow spoon with the red devil strip on it silver and brass coloring were both active. Two piece Rapalla style lures in cream, iridescent white, mother of pearl and fluorescent yellow were also successful. Overall it was a great weekend the weather was great except the wind but that's ok Good people, company, site, food and a weekend to remember. One more thing I must mention is there are no fish to be taken for food or otherwise at this time. Must catch and release. Unless Metis, treaty or otherwise first peoples.

New regulations make it not even worth fishing in Alberta. First time in 20 years I will not be purchasing a licence in Alberta. They're starving us out so I'm a couple years you'll be glad to pay 23.50 for a jack draw and 15 dollars for your perch license on top of your license

by Ranger86 on Jun. 13, 2018
What's everyone think of these new regulations?
by iFish Guest on Mar. 21, 2018
Very slow fishing this winter... sure would be nice if they culled some of the many cormorants that frequent the lake every year. Out today and caught 2 skinny pike and 2 Burbot.

Purple/pink is the ticket for perch on this Lake! Go deep for perch, and drill till you see the flicker on your sonar! Tight lines all!

by Sloughshark87 on Feb. 20, 2018

It's good at franchere. You don't have to back out overly far to load/unload a boat.
by gazertin on Jun. 11, 2017
Lol don't float well lol

by ws4964fx on Jun. 11, 2017
Ya it's terrible! Them boats don't float too well on high water levels!

by StevenC on Jun. 7, 2017
Heard through the grapevine that water is too high to launch a boat. I've never been on the lake before. Any truth to this?

by bruno27 on Aug. 29, 2016
there is none native can do whatever they want and the government are too stupid to grow ba..s so do like a lot of people does around you see a net drag it to shore and burn it us fisherman need to deal with the issue nobody is there too help sad but true

by B_c_hunter on Aug. 29, 2016
I would like to know what the right approach is to voice your opion about the netting in such a small body of water. We have tried at the local sustainability meetings and the answer is " NEXT!"

Is there still a concern for the blue green algae?
by Jettis on Aug. 9, 2016
Fished the tournament in june and people were saying that like 30000 lbs of fish were netted in the winter so fishing was very slow for thw tournament. Guys still found them but it was tough. So im thinking this alow fishing might continue for a bit.

by Happy happy on Aug. 2, 2016
Been here for 2 days we've caught 6 pike, only one keeper. The survey gals on shore, said it was the first fish they have tested in 3 days. FWL officer also stopped by, said it was one of the biggest he had seen all summer. It was only 72cm. Other fish men were shocked when they seen me come to shore. Sounds like nothing is has been caught for a while. This is my first time here. Is it always slow?

by Justin4 on Jul. 29, 2016

by ArtieBar on Jul. 21, 2016
Just got back Sunday from Moose Lake. Fishing was good for pike and walleye. Caught a few Walleye (smallest 47 cm, biggest 57 cm) on minnows trolling in 12 to 14' of water. Neighbor beside me in camp caught lots of Walleye with leeches. Water clarity was ok, visibility about 2 feet depth.
