by Fishslayer2 on Jan. 22, 2017
Yes you can get on that the boat launch. There is a heave out in the middle of the lake. There is 22 inches of ice. Was driving my truck all around on it.
by Master Angler on Jan. 18, 2017
Has anyone been out on the lake....how thick is the ice....and can you get on at the boat launch....any feed back would be great
by Big A on Jan. 4, 2017
Was out on dec 29, 2016 and ice was 12.5" with about 3" of snow. Was very slow with one small pike c&r. There's a fairly large pressure ridge about halfway across the lake running north/south
by ScottyD123 on Dec. 12, 2016
anyone know how thick the ice is?
by Brad0420 on Jul. 29, 2016
Caught over 75 fish in 2 days this week. Walleye were smaller for the most part ( biggest was 68 cm and a few 60-65 cm ) and fishing was slower than last time. Spent more time looking. All Pike were all very healthy looking and some decent sized ( just over 90 cm ) was biggest. Water levels up a lot from last year. Great lake.
by Clave on Jul. 25, 2016
Lake seems to be suffering an over population of walleye. Walleye numbers and size are huge. Pike numbers are down from years past but the biggest difference is the lack of size in the pike. Many pike caught had, what I now refer to as, walleye syndrome. ie large head deteriorated body. There was also a lack of both average size and large pike to be had which would have been unheard of on this lake. Lake was also weedier than I have ever see it. It actually smelled weedy and lake visibility is quite a ways down. There were banks of floating elephant snot and some sort of white flecks floating on the water in a number of areas. Caught many wimpy walleye on huge muskey plugs in 4-6 feet of water during the blazing sun.
by Brad0420 on Jul. 10, 2016
Was out there the other week. About 60 fish for the boat in 1 day mostly walleye. Got 2 Walleye that were 70 cm.
by ws4964fx on Jul. 10, 2016
Another great day out here! Lots of pike 3 over 70cm, few walleye one 68cm, and a 61cm. Tough throwing them back!

Best way is from Seibert. From the provincial park head straight north across the lake. In the northeast corner there's a bush trail to Spencer.

Can anyone tell me how to get to spencer through pinehurst or is there a better way?

by niking007 on Jul. 15, 2015
Fished here in late June 2015. Spent 2 nights at campground sites right on the lake love the free wood but lots of flies. Probably spent 10hrs fishing caught bout 70 between the 2 of us with most sucsess with crankbaits but most lure types worked. Trolled the entire time. Had a nice 4lb6oz wally as the nicest fish.

Went out last weekend, caught several decent pike, one 3 1/2Lbs, and several walleye, great lake, clean, good boat launch, all though little steep. heading back this week for more great fishing
by Lester D on Aug. 16, 2014
The water level is really high so launching is easy. Caught walleye, jack and small perch just off the boat launch in 15 feet of water using gulp baits. Also caught some 6-7 pound walleye in other areas but at the same depth. Great fishing in spite of the hot weather!!
by togrodnick on Aug. 12, 2014

by Bobbyfoe on Jan. 3, 2011
Bad flood water and it's tough to get around.
by Fishinggods.com on Dec. 1, 2010
Beautiful lake. One of the better lakes in Alberta for 3-4lb averages. Pike are good too. A 28lb was caught there last year. It's good that Pinehurst went to tags though. It was being raped by pigs, and I noticed it over a 2 year span. Fish and game has done a great job in bringing back walleye stocks so that ethical fisherman can enjoy it
