Lake is not very good, don't waste your time. Was told to get off the lake as they use it for their drinking water for everyone. Told there was many other lakes to fish. Not worth the effort!

Wrote a Letter to the Chief of Saddle Lake asking for permission to fish the lake. The response I got was this "In response to your mail dated June 4, 2015, we acknowledge and appreciate your request for permission to fish on Saddle Lake. Our lake water is being used as a source of drinking supply for our Nation, therefore NO one is allowed to fish on Saddle Lake. We thank you for your request" Sincerely, Leonard Jackson

Hit up Saddle lake last weekend. Caught about a half a dozen keeper sized pike (my buddy kept two.) In the hours before dusk it was walleyepalooza on the north shore. Short casting jigs with dew worms and was catching with almost every cast. None were large enough to keep, the largest being about 44 cm. Very healthy lake, seems to not be under serious pressure - under fished. We accessed the water at the beach on the east end of the lake. Locals friendly an inquisitive. Sonar showed fish all through the water column even at depths of fifty feet or more.
